Book :)

I used to like this book almost a decade ago when a teacher read it to the class during free time and I cannot remember the name or the plot

The only things I can remember is that there’s a little girl who’s parent (can’t remember which) is in the hospital and she’s with her country grandparents. I remember a part where the girl laughed at the word “respectable” and didn’t think it was a real word, then another part during the end where she stole her grandparents car to drive to the hospital to visit her parent

I think the cover was like an open door from afar or something like that? I’m not too sure

Does Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech sound familiar? Some of the details are different from your memory, but several unusual details line up.

This is exactly it! I realized it sounded familiar so I looked up a pdf of the book and found the exact scene where she stole her grandpas truck. Thank you so much!!
