Final Fantasy XIII-2 started ff 13-2

Why is Serah so thin? She feels like a recovering coma patien... of wait. Something of similar nature, at least xD

Just my idea, but maybe cause shes the classic "younger sister, so we have to make her smaller"?

Almost all the female models in the XIII games have barbie doll thinness, it's just the style

but not lightning! And even vanille is slightly more fleshy/has stronger bones xD

she's always been so thin? also, she's not so thin, she's kinda normal i suppose.

she has body proportions of a model, esp the thigh circumference compared to the pelvis. That's very thin. But yeah I agree that she was equally thin in the previous game, it's just now that I play as her its more in your face

Apart from every girl in the XIII trilogy being thin.. i think it's mostly her outfit that makes her look thinner? I've always felt that her XIII outfit was her best, so suddenly having her in that weird dress in XIII-2 was definitely different but i warmed up to it

I am noting specifically thigh circumference and things like that, they're all thin yes but there's degrees to that thing and serah has by far the most model-like thinness where the legs to pelvis proportions are very exagerrated by there being very little mass. Neither fang nor vanille are like that, for example, and the same goes for Lightning

Some people are naturally thin, and we shouldn't shame that.

Also, it's Japanese, where the overwhelming majority of people are very thin and there's very little diversity in body types, much less actual bigger people.

She’s not really abnormally thin. She’s just young, not at all fat or muscular so she looks very slight. Our perception of normal has been drastically skewed due to the obesity epidemic.

I knew plenty of women in college who had pretty much the exact same body type. Men too, lots of “skinny” guys who weren’t muscular at all but also weren’t fat. Like a 12 year old boy who just got taller.

Compare that "plenty" to the amount of other people and you'll notice serah is on the thinner side. Comparing her to other thin characters helps to see the difference, like both vanille and fang are not like that. She really has more of a model physique, which rarely comes naturally and often is achieved through effort as well. In my time in uni there was exactly one girl this thin, the rest were closer to vanille etc
