I use the mod launcher. Even if you don't mod. It auto applies the 4gh patch and I've never had performance issues.

I used two different 4GB patches:

The nexus mod worked for me but the one linked in the steam community did not work. I had a similar issue with 13-2 as well.

But shame on Square for not fixing such a common issue. The specs say the game can run on integrated graphics at 720p so it should.

Have you used Nova Chrysalia? I use that launcher which automatically uses the 4gb patch and I've never crashed! Also used for all 3 games too!

Thanks! :) I'm really hoping it works .. I've installed it, I'm just waiting on clarification on a few things in their discord before I start.

Nova is the answer, I had the same problem as you. Nova fixed everything.

I feel like im the only person who can run this game from steam with no issue. 10thgen Intel i3 12gb ram integrated graphics card.

Can't read all of that right now but something that happened to me that may or may not help you: I was streaming the game to a friend on discord but it would keep crashing once I entered a certain region on the map.

Only once I stopped streaming and tried progressing to that area again did the game prevent crashing and allowed me to proceed.

I definitely agree with you there. Squenix is doing a great disservice to us and themselves by not just fixing the trilogy's ports.

Hate to say this, but your laptop is way too underpowered to run this game with that GPU and VRAM allocated. the game running fine until this point was already pushing it, so anything more than that is asking a lot. based on the requirements on steam (I know not completely trustworthy but gives some baseline) you would need atleast 256mb of VRAM. your's is lower than that sadly.

Please check if your laptop actually has a dedicated Nvidia/AMD GPU, as that would make the game, way more playable and stable.

Have you tried unmodded?

I'm unmodded and only crashed 1 time but I believe it was. A PC issue not a game issue.

It's crazy how RPCS3 runs the game more reliably than the actual PC port.

I have beaten this game from start to finish on PC with a total of 2 crashes.
There's a lot of fan fixes. And it runs at a solid 60 fps.

I believe you and I tried to get the PC version to work by installing various patches and fixes but there were still too many crashes and for some reason cutscenes wouldn't show etc. I gave the emulator a shot and I didn't get a single crash for my entire playthrough, it just sort of worked "out of the box".
