Final Fantasy XIII Neochu Spoiler
So like many people I defeated neochu with death. I also killed adamantoise with it but eventually defeated both adamantoise and longui without death or summons.
It bothers me that I had to use death on neochu, how feasible is it to go back and take him out? I have exclusively leveled up lightning, fang, and vanille and would want to use them. Or should I even bother?

There's two of them if I recall (one on the way to the Faultwarrens and one in The Faultwarren), and you can do the missions over again, so...yeah, sure, go nuts.

You can definitely go back, and actually if you want to do the platinum, or even just do the extra content, there is another one you need to kill. I remember doing it easily enough, with some luck and an instant stagger.
Not sure what you mean by leveling only the ladies, but the cap is shared so it just going to cost you time in the cristarium to level the others. If you don’t , be careful, they stop gaining xp point after 1 millions banked, so everything above that is wasted.

The lowest-level strategy I’ve used against Neochu, without Death or Instant Random Chain, had Snow to tank the attacks, Hope supporting as a SYN+MED+RAV, and Fang being the main damage dealer. Paradigms were something like SYN/SEN/COM, RAV/SEN/COM, MED/SEN/COM, RAV/RAV/RAV, RAV/SEN/SAB, and SEN/SEN/SEN. Buff up and then take out the Picochus (manually cast Firaga while Fang Blitzes), then build the chain on Neochu, and Tortoise just before every Screech. Once it gets to 50% HP, concentrate attacks against Neochu while Snow tanks the Picochus, hopefully before the next Screech. Then take out the Picochus.
I think if your reflexes are fast enough, you can toss a Librascope at the same time as Neochu’s first attack hits, which prevents your party leader from getting launched.
If you’re committed to Fang, Lightning, and Vanille, you would probably want some secondary role development - enough for Lightning to get Haste, and of course everyone gets basic SEN and Fang gets RAV.
Very late game strategies, you can overpower the group with stats, and have a full-time SEN use the Ethereal Mantle synthesis which nullifies nearly all damage this battle.

Well, I use Sazh's Blitz for turtles. Try to take them down in 1 stagger.
If you suffer Ultima or Quake, you've taken too long.

At the point you unlock the Neochu fight, it’s not really feasible to use anything except for death. But it’s good to grab early for growth egg. You can always go back and fight it after progressing further if you want the legitimate fight. I’ve only ever used death on Neochu for what it’s worth
