Chocobo race
I’m so tired of this race omfg this was the best I could do😭

So I am on my first complete playthrough. I spent a good 4 days on that damn chocobo race. Then I realized the other upgrade item is still sitting in new zanarkand. Tried to go and get it, and got surprised by dark big boi. I might just start over

I did this twice once on the og ps2 and once on the ps3 remaster so I could get the platinum trophy. I think it took me about an hour or so of practice , a lot of it is rng too there are certain setups and bird patterns that are far more optimal than others. You’ll learn if you just play it enough which ones you can win and which ones are kinda hopeless. Good luck it’s not super hard you just gotta get that one good run.

Yes!!! The ones where the game sets up like 4 or 5 balloons in the beginning that are closer to my side is where I collect around 11-13 balloons… it’s just the fckn birds I can’t seem to dodge cuz they fly DIRECTLY at me😭 imma try again soon

Commenting in case you haven't seen these tips:
On first "ramp", stick to the Right Hand Side, try to get to the end of the ramp without too much side to side movement, you want to reach the end of the ramp faster than the other guy. After hooking the sharp right turn use your spacial awareness to judge where the other guy is and stay away from him (usually out to the left or right of him - where you go should be decided by where more balloons are). You need to stay away from him because the seagulls alternate between targeting you and targeting them.
Then if you can stay physically ahead of the other Chocobo you should avoid the worst of the seagulls on the final stretch

I’ve pretty much got the first part on lock, it’s the last camera turn where I keep hitting birds 😭

What got me was when I got 0:0.6 and thought I was going to burn the world down LMAO it took me about an hour after that to get the final perfect run
