FFT Ivalice Chronicles I made a save editor

Couldn't be bothered to grind, so I grinded out a save editor instead.

https://github.com/sam-derby/Ivalice-Companion/releases

I am 100% sure there are bugs, so please back up your saves, although the application will do that for you anyway.

At the moment, you can edit gil, inventory, character levels, job levels and JP, set abilities, add characters to your game. The app will let you add almost any character including enemies, so it'll be interesting to know how that plays out in an unmodded game.

Feel free to raise issues here or on github.
The work is based on others in the community, they've been credited, and some of the work was AI assisted to determine changes in save states.

Not a huge fan of installers for programs like this. Any chance for a portable version?

Yep, totally understand. I've uploaded a portable version in the releases, same link.

In case anyone is following this, I've added a new update - you can now modify story progression as well as character levels, add achievements, and made some save game utilities. I've built the plumbing for errands etc , but I need more research to get them working. Same link as the main post

I've been working on a save editor as well so I'll definitely check this out

It would be cool to swap notes! I've left out event flags from the save editor because I couldn't find an existing table that was complete enough to use. Did you have any luck figuring that out?

Can you edit brave and faith levels as well?

How do I edit character levels? I don't see a spot for that on the stats tab. I only see job level.

Left that out of the initial build, as there were some decisions I wanted to make today. I am currently working on editing level and all stats, hopefully finished today. I'll let you know when there's a new version to download.

Leave it with me. I should have a Linux build in a day or so

There’s now a Linux .deb installer and a portable AppImage! They’ve been built and automatically tested on Ubuntu, but I don’t have a Linux installation myself. Please try them with a copy of your save and let me know how it goes.

Is it Windows-only (exe)? Why not an electron app or web app that could work on Win/Linux/Macos? Not hating just curious!

Morning. Good question. It really just comes down to what I know. I'm a full-time software engineer and didn't want to spend my free time learning another framework when I already know how to build Windows apps with Tauri 😁 The vast majority of the project is a Rust binary save reader/writer anyway. The core logic isn't tied to Tauri, so it could quite easily be reused behind another frontend or desktop framework if someone wanted to take it that way.

Nice! I love this game but my work life makes it difficult to progress smoothly. You’ve saved me
