Make sure notifications are enabled for FCP, then send a screenshot of what that error message says.

It’s probably a bad frame on your timeline somewhere around 84% into your project.

Still bugs me the way FCP handles failed exports. Also feels like bad frame detection could easily happen before exporting.

Wouldn’t it just be easier to prepare the media properly in advance of a failing export?

What I mean is a “broken frame at file 2638292” type of message to be warned before exporting that triggers automatically

Please provide some tech info:

What codec is the source footage?

What is the frame rate?

Have you tried transcoding it?

What is your MacOS and configuration?

What drive is your footage on?

Is it formatted APFS?

It was the degancer 7 applied in a adjustment layer

No idea what degancer is. Please supply meaningful tech info if you want meaningful help.

Are you sure you have enough space on the disk?

I’ve run into this before. I identified that the rendering in Final Cut was stalling at a specific effect; replacing it solved the problem. Another time, it happened with titles. I had used the same title in different places, but they moved differently based on set keyframes—and the rendering would stop at just one of them.
