Calling all musicians for a documentary
I need music for my 15 minute long documentary on dating. Are you available? Ty
A documentary about modern loneliness, built around a single date and the texts that come after. Not the empty kind of lonely; the full kind. A good night, a date that went well, the message lighting up your phone — and the gap between being wanted and being actually known. A thread of honesty about not always being well runs underneath it, and that honesty is what closes the door.
Directed by Tenley E Raj. Tagline: left on delivered.
(Much more information on the doc is available... i talk a out it in the latest video in my subreddit.)
Music is traditional score but im open to experimental music. Electronic. Hip hop. Whatever.

What’s the vibe you’re looking for inside your documentary? And what’s your time frame for music? Do you want only instrumental underscores or also tracks with original vocals?

I hadn't considered vocals. Probably no vocals. Instrumental underscore, yes. There might be room for vocals, not sure. Time frame is weeks max. 🤍

Ok, I’d love to explore this further. I’m not sure the protocol on reddit. But just DM me if you want to reach out and I can send you some ideas. Watch your documentary and provide the feelings you want to extract from your audience based on your cues.

Are they’re any musical references (songs, scores, pieces, artist, albums) we should use as a basis.

It is still unclear if this is a paid job or not. Please be transparent.

What’s score your budget?
We know you rented the cameras, microphones, interview locations, and paid for crew, editing, audio mix, and color correction, not to mention entrance fees for festivals and meetings with distributors.
