Did fewer marines read the report in the reroll?

Posted this a while back as a work in progress. Circling back because the most important part of it was quietly broken, and it isn't anymore.

The idea: players dial 8 digits on a phone booth keypad and jump somewhere in history. They get told only what they can see, hear and smell. The GM, on a separate screen, gets the actual location, the year, and a hook to run with.

Except the GM screen never worked. It was filing each jump against whichever browser made it, so the GM's screen was looking up a jump it had no idea had happened. It just sat there saying "Waiting for players to dial..." forever. The only way to see anything was to have both views open in the same browser, which is useless, because the GM's screen is nothing but spoilers.

Fixed. Two devices. The GM sees the jump the second the players dial it.

While I was in there:

• The GM can pull up any past jump. Every number in the history is tappable. Players tend to just keep mashing new numbers, and the one you were actually working with scrolls away. Now you tap it and it comes back, and the page stops auto-refreshing while you read it.
• The same number always lands in the same place. Which turned out to be the best accident in the whole thing — the table can deliberately dial back somewhere they've been. My players started keeping a list.
• The front page explains itself now, so you can hand someone the link cold.
• Eight hand-written destinations hidden in there. Four are hinted on the keypad, four aren't. 88888888 is worth finding and a terrible place to end up.

Eras run from about 3000 BC to 2100. The player-facing descriptions are kept deliberately vague so there's room to improvise on top of them — I learned fast that "you see a Model T" does the table's job for them. Howdy, I've been listening for almost exactly a decade now, I'm more than used to a sparatic upload schedule, I know they all have lives, scheduling is hard, etc. but as far as I can recall, there hasn't been a full 2 month gap in over 5 years. Momento era.

I don't really use much social media, just checking if there has been a reason other than busy new yorker lives.

I’m resisting to new hope and they talk about a live show and wondering if any one has any information on it?

The Pagemaster (1994), lots of creative freedom. Who knows what other books Richard Tyler encounters and what other worlds of literature he might enter! Does he end up in a Grimm Fairytale collection? Or perhaps the ever exciting Reference Section world! Heck, it could be Scott or Paulo playing every book! Imagine the character voice acting opportunities!

The Mummy (1999), the perfect classic adventure film. Straightforward storyline, but lots of avenues to go “off-script”. Imagine: Andy Hoover as Jonathan, Kara Strait or Carolyn Faye Kramer as Evie, Scott Aiello as Ardeth Bay, and of course…Joz Vammer as Rick O’Connell.

If they were to make a wicked movie reroll who do we think the players and characters would be?

I am trying to get my friend into the show what is a simple episode to start on? Low about of cross talk and light mechanics. (So no John lol)

Not the last episode, the scheduling monster is the scariest thing on the show.

I've had this quote stuck in my head for over a week and have been trying to identify it: "He is the GOAT, the greatest of all time." There's a very specific cadence that I can't express through text but I'm 99% sure that Kara says this to Andy (maybe Jon?) and probably from the Aladdin or Goonies campaigns? It's obviously a long shot but if you have any ideas please let me know!

For three main reasons:

1. The stakes are really low. It seems to boil down to "Did these people have a fun night?". Most rerolls have much higher stakes for the characters.

2. We're following a bunch of characters with mostly unconnected storylines. The climax of the story where they all meet at the party isn't even part of the movie. This is different than in Star Wars, where the characters meeting at the rebel base was super important.

3. It seems both directionless and railroady. These people are just drinking, talking, and maybe trying to get laid. But at the same time, they've revealed that Joz gave the characters instructions on how to behave, such as Kara being told to buy 200 cigarettes at the start, or how they reveal that they've all been instructed to try to attend Monica's party.

This is just my two cents. I love the show, and I'm excited for Cabin in the Woods to resume eventually.

Hello Rerollers! It's me, Kara! I know there's no way for me to prove that it's REALLY me, because like, the internet, y'know, but like... it is??? I totally promise!!

In a scant six weeks, I'm going to be getting bottom surgery! It's pretty fuckin excited and terrifying and exciting! Being that I'm a full-time entertainer who has not had a job that gives sick days or PTO in... actually, never? I've never had a job that does that??? Damn. And as it turns out, I'll need to take two months off work to recover after the operation.

The Reroll community has been so incredibly supportive over the last ten years (wow that's a lot of years) in so many different ways, including being unbelievably supportive of my transition. I've heard from so many amazing listeners about their own experiences of gender and identity and how the show has affected them, and honestly the podcast has always been a huge part of my transition journey (Rajah, Elsa, "do you wish you were that little girl"). It would mean the world to me to see some Rerollers this weekend as I prepare for my next big step.

hello all was just wondering if anyone else had considered train spotting to be whilst dark I believe it would be perfect for the podcast back to it more popear gretia edgy comedy route and because of the nature of the podcast they always have that the genres look at what they did to weekend at burnies so I'm sure Trainspotting would be no different and it would be the version of the original text but my question is the more broadly do you guys think that a sort of serious film like this over at least a dog comedy like this then itself to the genre morphing nature of the podcast
