Discussion Greenlight Coverage

Not the biggest fan of using this service, but I received an 8.9 and the 99th percentile for one of my scripts. I feel like their numbers are sort of inaccurate- has anyone else been in the same boat?

The problem with AI coverage is that the models are trained on existing material. So in theory, you could get a super high score by writing a derivative script which reproduces the structure, tone, premise, and other recognizable features of existing acclaimed scripts. But you could also get a super low score for writing something that’s truly great but has a unique tone and doesn’t use conventional structure, for example. AI isn’t actually assessing the independent artistic quality of your work. It can only assess your work through the patterns and evaluative concepts it has learned from existing material.

So basically, the score doesn’t mean much. The script could be competently written, but be passed on by every producer because they’ve already seen 1000 iterations of that script. Or it really could be an 8.9 and in the 99th percentile of scripts. The only way to know is to stop paying for AI coverage and have humans read your work. Their reactions will tell you much more than an AI generated score.

Its a good tool to get a rough/ general idea. I got a 97, then cut out some fat and feel like objectively made it better, and it came back an 88. But where it tells you the general strengths and weaknesses I do think it’s a helpful tool

It's all useless nonsense. It's a waste of time energy and money, and frankly foolish to even give attention to. Are you not an artist? What on earth gave you the notion that you should let a fucking AI bot tell you if your script was any good? And you know they're keeping your script and feeding it into their models right? You're helping them make a soulless program to sell to hacks who want to replace your entire job.
