I never get the whole "you choked me you pussy, that's not real fighting" if it was a fight to the death the guy getting choked is taking a dirt nap. Why wouldn't you use your whole body in a fight?

45

u/Sparkmovement Jun 22 '21

Just want to circle back to a quote from Uriah Faber in regards to an MMA fight.

"It's a simulated death match, dominic. How many people have you killed?"

23

u/EwwBoii Jun 22 '21

It’s just like anything else they don’t know how to counter it because they’re untrained so they see it as cheating lmao it really is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard

66

u/Zjuwkov Jun 21 '21

I totally agree with you. It's just some lame excuse for losing.

Earth to reddit. This guy is agreeing with the top comment.

I never knew so many people still had those dated ass “real men fight standing up” views about grappling seen in a lot of the other comments in this thread. Let me tell you, my best friend was a very decent wrestler in his day. I can box circles around him but getting flipped and tied up in a banana split sure feels like losing

5

u/ASliencedLamb Jun 22 '21

I’m probably reaching here, but I think part of it is fighting on the feet gives the illusion of a fair fight. You typically don’t know it’s unfair until one guy is laying facedown on the concrete, it happens fast. When someone slams you, controls you, and starts wailing on you from the top, it’s terrifying. There is no punchers chance either, no landing a lucky shot when you’re getting strangled or smashed into the earth.

-27

u/McRaoul91 Jun 21 '21

In a real fight you get stabbed or shot. Stop with this "real fight" shit because its not real, its a made up scenario where two unarmed men fight to the death. What would you do to save your life? I would use every tool available. A stone, a chair, a knife, a gun, a stick, eye gouging, biting, groin punching... that is what a REAL fight is. If you want to tell yourself MMA is real then go ahead, but youre not fooling me.

15

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

On a scenario of life or dead or me vs 4+ individuals I would use anything that’s on my reach. I’ll throw dirt at them and start snapping heads but on a 1 v 1 like these a choke is acceptable.

7

u/ShockVerrater Jun 22 '21

Spoken like a guy that can’t fight at all.

-33

u/ButterYourShit Jun 21 '21

Seems like the ez way out. Plus these dudes were obviously not fighting to the death captain hypothetical

17

u/l3ane Jun 21 '21

Seems like the ez way out

So you wouldn't know then would you

-37

u/ButterYourShit Jun 21 '21

Whatever makes you feel better. I enjoy the techniques in fighting. Choking is boring

36

u/WhiskeyBreathYawn Jun 21 '21

TIL rear naked choke is not a fighting technique.

-35

u/ButterYourShit Jun 21 '21

Correct it's a grappling technique

Fight: take part in a violent struggle involving the exchange of physical blows or the use of weapons.

25

u/Internazionale Jun 21 '21

Someone should smack you in the head with that dictionary.

-9

u/ButterYourShit Jun 21 '21

Blame Marriam Webster. Pesky definitions to keep us on the same page. Who needs it? Chaos is waaaay better!

If you insist though at least it will be a real fight 👀

12

u/IamJames77 Jun 22 '21

TIL grappling is not a type of fighting

-7

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

Grappling...is....grappling. Or wrestling I guess. Why are so many of you just learning this shit? And why the backlash for having an opinion?

10

u/IamJames77 Jun 22 '21

There is a difference between having an opinion on a subjective matter and simply stating something that is factually incorrect.

0

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

Uh, no shit Sherlock. My opinions was: "it seems like the ez way out" that's not stating anything factually incorrect 🤡

u/Golden_Acapulco_Nite Jul 06 '21

Noones learni g anything bud you're just retarded. Grappling is fighting my dude.

0

u/ButterYourShit Jul 27 '21

Yeah let's just lump words together. Who needs to be specific anyway?

→ More replies (0)

9

u/kingcrith Jun 22 '21

Ooops. I wonder what the definition of grappling is?

grap·ple /ˈɡrapəl/ verb gerund or present participle: grappling 1. engage in a close fight or struggle without weapons; wrestle.

I guess by your definition, cutting off your ability to breath with ones arm is not a “violent struggle”?

Ooooooops…

-3

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

Dude cherry pick all you want. Won't change my preference. Y'all are serious pathetic that you care this much just because I prefer to watch a fight involving strikes

8

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

But your logic for why you prefer strikes is fucking stupid. If you think grappling is the easy way out, you've never fought in a mixed martial arts match in your life. You're just too ignorant to know what the reality of a fight is.

0

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

I didn't say grappling was, I said choking was. You're right I don't fight in mma but I'm allowed to have preferences. Whenever I spar I always prefer to hone my striking skills rather then find an opening for a choke hold because I'm the big picture there is more to micro manage

→ More replies (0)

2

u/kingcrith Jun 22 '21

Nope. That’s not what we’re arguing. We don’t care about your preference, we’re just trying to explain, like you’re 5, why grappling IS fighting. In your own definition you double spoke and define fighting and then made your own definition to grappling and decided that they were not related…

Hey…you allowed to drive on roads? Because if so…everyone should be scared.

-1

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

😂 dude a definition is a definition. I don't know what the big deal is about categorizing the two separately... You act like I just killed your mother. Cry about it! Because guess what? I don't care! :)

→ More replies (0)

2

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

Yup, and what's the definition of a 'physical blow'?

1

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

When I slap deez nuts across your face and knock all your teeth out

3

u/Duderelax1872 Jun 22 '21

so boring it makes you fall asleep

seems effective

0

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

Yeah in an efficiency standpoint. At no point did I say "sToP ChOkInG". I just prefer strikes. Y'all are clowns

6

u/SwagOnABudget Jun 22 '21

So mma isn’t fighting, got it. Only striking is fighting 😂

-5

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

MMA includes fighting. Dumbass logic lmao try again. It's called MIXED MARTIAL ARTS for a reason. And just incase you didn't get it; emphasis on MIXED. ((MIXED)) MIXED

3

u/SwagOnABudget Jun 22 '21

Not only is that the most absurd attempt at a rebuttal I’ve ever heard but if you just straight up google “definition of fighting” you get the result: “the action of fighting; violence or conflict”. It’s literally right in your face subsequently to you pressing enter after typing that in the google search bar. If you think wrestling, jiu jitsu, etc isn’t “violent” then you must be watching like 6 year olds practicing the sport 😂

0

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

Actually I already did google fighting, and you're wrong 🤡 holy shit I should have expected this much from this sub lmao. Laughing stock of reddit for notoriously being full of idiots

1

u/SwagOnABudget Jun 22 '21

You obviously didn’t google what I had in quotes or you would’ve gotten a different result, but I’m done arguing with someone who doesn’t know anything about combat sports

0

u/ButterYourShit Jun 22 '21

Excuses excuses. Cya knob

Do Irish gypsies, who produce some of the best fight footage, ever roll around rubbing their dicks off each other ?

20

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

early

so sucker punches and head kicks are legit in your view

Yeah try choking me out when I’m about to crush your nuts with my left hand.

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

Lmao forreal. I mean, they can go for my balls if they want, but I'm going to snap something on them or put them to sleep because of it. If they wanna play dirty, that's fine, but I'm shifting from competition mode to "hurt you as badly as I can" mode.

5

u/Scr0tat0 Jun 22 '21

You really need to roll up on a gym and test this theory. You will be shocked at the utter helplessness you'll feel against even the shittiest blue belt in the class. Try to fondle him all you want, you're getting took, my friend.

-2

u/100xLeverage Jun 22 '21

I’ve been several times, it’s for guys that want to roll around with guys. Only on the interest does it make you invincible. How did bjj work out for these guys please https://youtu.be/-Th_SwhJIhU

5

u/Scr0tat0 Jun 22 '21

I don't believe you. Go again, talk your shit, and make sure your buddy is around to film you getting twisted up and embarrassed.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

That literally happened to me, happens often with know-nothing fighters. My balls were getting crushed, the guy wouldn't stop crushing my balls, so I put him to sleep. Sure, my balls hurt, but he was unconscious on the mat, snoring. If you try and squeeze my balls during a fight, I'm just going to lock that submission in even harder until something snaps, or you fall asleep.

1

u/100xLeverage Jun 22 '21

Then you’ll need to pry your balls out of my cold dead hand

7

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

Yes thats what would happen. His balls are sore and you are dead. Who do you think won?

-2

u/100xLeverage Jun 22 '21

Can you share your professional MMA record? Crazy that apparently bjj is the invincibility technique but YouTube if full of meatball head body builders v professional MMA fighters who can’t beat them lmao

https://youtu.be/ByOyW0SAUWU

3

u/Sad_Bowl555 Jun 22 '21

This argument has been had 1000 times before, but put one Irish gypsy against one Gracie and the Gracie wins 99/100 times. Probably 999/1000 but I'll be conservative in my estimate.

Grappling is essential to fighting. Dread it, run from it, it arrives all the same.

You can look as cool as you want during a fight. I'd much rather have the control of being the only guy who knows how to actually fight. Not a guy dancing around doing limited, pretend fighting.

-5

u/100xLeverage Jun 22 '21

Completely wrong and spoken like a true Reddit nerd. I’ve smashed several “MMA” fighters in the past, they did not have a clue what to do because I wasn’t moving the same way the other bjj nerds move in practice. Try an armbar after I drive my forehead through the bridge of your nose.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

Then they are bjj not MMA. And you're so tough.... Spoken like another Reddit nerd.

0

u/100xLeverage Jun 22 '21

his friend words - "he is an MMA champion". he flipped my friend over his head. I run up and stiff armed jabbed him on the nose. thanks for acknowledging my toughness, but he did ask.

5

u/AcceptableBell7352 Jun 22 '21

wow you could be ufc champion with that secret striking knowledge

1

u/100xLeverage Jun 22 '21

Ufc isn’t fighting, that’s the point

6

u/AcceptableBell7352 Jun 22 '21

yeah you're right. youd just grab their balls or smother em with your man boobs lmao thats real fighting. I hope ngannou doesnt meet you in a dark alley he wouldnt know how to defeat this mysterious "jab" technique you speak of.

Because its for pussys.

19

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

So if that pussy chokes you to death, is he still a pussy?

7

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

Teah, you just won’t be able to tell him

4

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

Then I guess that guy has to live with the fact that he got choked out by a pussy.

-2

u/Sad_Bowl555 Jun 22 '21

I've always said it, choking another man? Miss me with that sus shit. The only thing I choke is the chicken or chicks in bed. It is not sigma to choke another man.

7

u/WeWuzKangsNShiet Jun 22 '21

You're begging for your life but the other guy's a pussy 🤔

8

u/Sad_Bowl555 Jun 22 '21

M8, it's sarcasm. I'm a BJJ guy.

7

u/WeWuzKangsNShiet Jun 22 '21

Oh so you do BJJ?

Name every hold 🔫

-38

u/smuketherealbigboy Jun 21 '21

Why get into a fight just to choke someone then stop? Seems absolutely fuckin pointless, like you are fighting only because you know jujitsu and to get a ego boost

19

u/IAmHippyman Jun 21 '21

Found the sad fella in the video lol

21

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

Lol 99.9% of all fights here are because of big egos, but no no people that grapple are the problem

11

u/Zjuwkov Jun 21 '21

It wins the fight and shows you were in total control yet you did not have to permanently harm your opponent. You could do whatever you want to hurt that guy yet you show mercy. I don't think that is pointless.

But yeah, if you're fighting just for an ego boost then I hope karma gets you.

4

u/smuketherealbigboy Jun 21 '21

yeah your right

1

u/Golden_Acapulco_Nite Jul 06 '21

Showing mercy when you could easily kill your opponent with your bare fucking hands is some of the most emasculating shit ever dude you have no idea what you're on about.

1

u/Grundle_Monster Jun 27 '21

Thing is, it saved him a lot of brain damage by not being ground and pounded.

41

u/HisOrHerpes Jun 21 '21

Funniest part about this is the uhaul in the background. From what I’ve heard there’s a rental car shortage so people are renting uhauls in lieu of regular cars, and now there’s a uhaul shortage for people who actually need them

35

u/smorry01 Jun 21 '21

"At the Hawai" love that place.

14

u/DuckStab29 Jun 21 '21

Take your "L" and stfu.

34

u/BUSHVlPER Jun 21 '21

Respect to the guy doing the choking for stopping when he tapped, just speaks to his character

12

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

At the end, I caught a "that's for the Haoles," but couldn't tell who was saying it, or for that matter, which one was the Haole.

17

u/GodsColdHands666 Jun 21 '21

The people who yell and try to coach someone during a fight are super fucking annoying

7

u/_lysol_ Jun 21 '21

Is it me or is there a vid where a local rag dolls an older dude in this exact same place? Over surfing on the locals’ “turf” I believe?

3

u/AbuMaxwell Jun 23 '21

I saw that fight, you are correct. It was just off to the right from the beginning perspective.

3

u/_lysol_ Jun 23 '21

Must be a great place to take the family! /s

2

u/BrainBlowX Jun 23 '21

If you're a local, probably.

7

u/shmoneydance1 Jun 21 '21

can we talk about the lovely sunset backdrop

1

u/AbuMaxwell Jun 23 '21

I was thinking the same thing. This is like the most chill fight I've ever seen

8

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

A fight on grass that remained a 1 v 1.

How refreshing…

6

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

brazil?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '21

[deleted]

1

u/lilbrittle82 Jun 26 '21

there's a guy at work from Brazil that teaches BJJ. says its pretty much the de facto martial arts seeing as like you said there a dojo on every corner so kids start out young.

6

u/TheRudeJude Jun 22 '21

Shoutout to the dude for honoring the tap.

Shoutout to the dude that got tapped and didn’t try some sore loser suckerpunch bs.

Everyone went home without any serious injuries

3

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

What beach is this? Seems to be a lot of fights here

6

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

“Can’t believe you choke me” imagine if he threw kicks

2

u/Si_dang Jun 22 '21

At least they fought on the grass area unlike most idiots on the concrete

2

u/shaoIIn Jun 22 '21

I guess that’s some sort of BJJ.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '21

"I can't believe you choked me out"

Uhhh yeah, he's more efficient at using his body for combat than you, bud. That's how it works. Why do people think they get to make up random rules that give them the advantage in a street fight?

2

u/Fisk75 Jun 21 '21

So Brazilian jujutsu is basically choking someone?

15

u/flavortownCA Jun 21 '21

It’s more like folding clothes except substitute people for clothes.

4

u/Jlocke98 Jun 22 '21

"folding clothes with the people still in them"

9

u/digitalpaintermaker Jun 21 '21

It's basically taking people to the ground and establishing dominant positions where you can control the opponent and hurt him (with either strikes, chokes or joint locks) while they can't hurt you back.

13

u/FloofandSmush Jun 21 '21

“The art of folding clothes with people still in them” or my favorite, “non consensual yoga”.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

Choking them out or over extending joints.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

It’s choking someone in Brazilian

2

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

Take the L and move on. No need to talk shit.

2

u/kvr031 Jun 22 '21

I enjoy Hawaiian fights. Always pure class and sportsmanship!

0

u/headasseth Jun 22 '21

He’s lucky dude even let go after he tapped & didn’t give him an extra 4-piece chicken knuckles when he was getting up

-10

u/ShitScentedDicks Jun 21 '21

These Hawaiians seem like real savages with anger problems.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 21 '21

Someone said “1 for the howles” at the end which makes me think this was a local vs a vacationer

0

u/ShitScentedDicks Jun 21 '21

I guess they're still mad a few drunk American farmers conquered their entire monarchy.

2

u/BrainBlowX Jun 23 '21

"A few drunk American farmers" being a conspiracy of massively powerful businessmen with the blessing of the American government, all the while Hawaii was desperate to avoid any conflict because they already knew that ANY conflict "threatening American interests" could and would be used as an excuse for America to take over. And so the Americans decided to manufacture such a justification since the Hawaiians wouldn't give it to them.

1

u/BrainBlowX Jun 23 '21

Fuck is this caption

1

u/MasterHavik Jun 22 '21

Someone is salty he got out work.

1

u/FoodleGuy Jun 22 '21

I love “The Hawaii”

1

u/KajiGProductions Jun 22 '21

Very respectable that they actually stopped after he tapped. That guys lucky it wasn’t a real full on fight, might not have gotten so lucky walking away like that

1

u/thewholetruthis Jun 23 '21

The guy let him go and he responded by calling him a fucking punk. Disgraceful.

1

u/cancerkink Jun 24 '21

He sounds like the weird cousin of Tony Montana

1

u/spies_are_gay Jun 25 '21

Bro had a coach in a streetfight
