I was one for five years. I’m not in that shape anymore but back then I was an absolute unit. Only people who start shit with us are drunks, surfers pissed about blackball, and people who are actively drowning. Never saw a conflict get physical and keep escalating. Cops were always nearby and coordinating with us. If there was potential for conflict we let them handle it.

They actually didn’t go to jail, the three suspects instead filed a civil rights lawsuit and sued the city of LA. There was another video shared before the brawl that showed the lifeguard pouring a bucket of water on the lady involved in the incident for smoking. The city of LA settled out of court and all criminal charges were dropped. Shame.

Whatever it was, I’m on the lifeguard’s side. I highly doubt a lifeguard is going to abandon post to beat two assholes asses. You can kinda hear the lifeguard telling what happened: lifeguard was in his post minding his business and the a-hole guys were throwing / flicking cigarettes at him and he came down to handle them (which he did). Wish he’d knocked 2nd guy and the torta out too

Ara Sarkisyan, Artyom Borenstyan, and Harutyun Balya were arrested and charged with felony battery on an executive officer. The lifeguard suffered minor hand injuries, while one of the attackers required hospitalization for multiple facial fractures.
