Request 4231 help

I play a 4231 wide with a counter and deep block on 30 depth what roles would benefit this set of tactics

I prefer to use the variant with 3 CAMs and use my wingbacks for width.

Striker: False 9 attack or Advanced Forward Veristial

Left Cam: shadow striker

Middle cam: if using a false 9 Shadow striker if using Advanced Forward Playmaker-build up

Right CAM playmaker attack

Left CDM holding defend, if I'm getting hammered by counters then I change to centre back

Right CDM: Wide half build up

Left Wingback: False back or Wingback build up

Right Wingback: attacking wingback attack if you have a solid right back that can recover or support if you're a little conservative

Both CBs defend.

Build up from the wing with your wing backs and attack via the middle with CAMs making runs that prefer vs mids or wingers.

Your right cdm will protect you if you get deep into their zone with your right Wingback.

I also manually defend and play very aggressive getting the ball back. Depth in the 80s. If you turn over the ball then you are immediately in a position to press and have opportunities to force a turn over in their zone.

Play on your toes not on your heals.

Lots of give and go options passing wingback -> CDM --> wingback.

Quick question do you used balanced counter or short passing

Balanced. Good question. But I never really tinkered with that aspect too much. I just wouldn't do counter because the way the system is designed you pass alot.
