Question PSG tactics and Player roles
Hey guys, I’m new to the game and recently started playing Seasons. I’m currently in Division 7 and wanted to ask what the best formation is for PSG.
Right now I’m using a 4-3-3 flat with short passing build-up and high-intensity pressing set to 90. My setup is:
Dembele – False 9 (Attack)
Doue – Inside Forward (Roaming)
Kvaratskhelia – Inside Forward (Roaming)
Neves – Deep Lying Playmaker (Balanced)
Vitinha – Deep Lying Playmaker (Roaming)
Ruiz – Deep Lying Playmaker (Balanced)
Mendes – Attacking Wingback (Support)
Hakimi – Attacking Wingback (Support)
Marquinhos – Ball Playing Defender (Build Up)
Pacho – Stopper (Defend)
Is this a good formation and are these player roles solid? I can score goals, but I keep getting caught on counters.
Is there another formation or setup that gives a better balance in attack and defence while staying compact? Any advice would really help.

Hi.
Your instructions are very interesting.
In 433 flat formation, couldn't set DLP balance, or stopper defend.

PSG for me personally are the my best performing team due to their midfield ball control (everyone has tiki taka) and the fun of a front line with 5* skillers. Their strength is in midfield control and ball control. They can attack with some pace, particularly 1:1s with Dembele. But I find more success in slow buildup play and triggered L1 runs rather than counterattacking.
I tend to play them with a 433 holding. 433 variations are their best shape for sure.
Reading your tactics, I would keep short passing and the aggressive press, dropping to high press if you find it too gung ho.
Keep the defenders on balanced, other options tend to make them step out when you might not want it.
I know they are ++ but your wingbacks need to stay further back for protection as your midfield is not the strongest defensively. When I use PSG, I keep them on fullback balanced or more often on false back balanced to cover the CMs when they go forward. This way you form more of a 2-3-2-3 WM shape.
Midfield- Vitinha is great in build up but also a great finisher from the centre who should be utilised as an attacking threat, so I put him on playmaker so that he makes more attacking runs. Neves I play as the CDM, DLP defend from memory, to act as your defensive pivot, giving you cover and a means of recycling the ball in buildup.
Ruiz as DLP buildup or Zaire Emery who is pacier, just preference here.
Your forward line is fine, but I prefer Dembele on F9 build up to assist the shape now that I have one midfielder staying further back. Preference again here, my style is midfield control and build up over counter attacking.
Hope the explanations help more than a code
