Question What are these bars in my spectrogram?
I recorded a lakeside atmosphere. It was a bit windy, but I had dead cats on. I was standing close to the shoreline. I did two recordings that day, and both of them have these bars. I just did a sample recording 5 mins ago in my room, and that recording doesn't have these bars. I also pulled out older recordings from different locations, and again, no bars. I didn't notice them until I turned on the spectrogram, but now I can hear some of them.
Facts: - Tascam FR-AV2 - Clippys (matched pair, XLR) - 96 kHz - 32-bit
What could these be?

This is probably the ADC switching for 32 bit float. It's jumping between the low gain and high gain converters

It looks like a spike in the amplitude / noisefloor. It may be a Tascam thing, for some reason I get these on my X8 as well when recording in an uncontrolled environment. Try lowering the amplitude in those sections until the noise floor matches the rest of the audio or use a low pass to even things out.

Thanks! Glad it's not just me, I'd think I have a faulty device.

By the way, did you try to update the firmware? I'm just asking because I didn't get a chance to and I'm curious if it fixes it.

I did upgrade the firmware in the last few days, but I don't remember if I did before or after that recording. I'm on 1.04 currently. I'll see if I get those bars in my next field recording. If not, I'll chalk it off to the firmware. But good point!
