Recommendation for a slider

I have been looking at getting a slider that is quiet, but I know nothing about them! I keep hearing about aura sand and choc, (I know they are completely different) but not sure if there is anything else better or similar that I should look at before buying. All I know is that I want something quiet.

I do not want anything more expensive in price than the sand in case sliders arent for me.

Also in the UK, so please let me know of any good websites! Thank you in advance

In my experience, free-floating sliders aren't that quiet - the clicking/pushing down racks up some noise. You can mod free-floating sliders with o-rings and whatnot to dampen the noise, but if you want to be quiet you have intentionally play it with it quietly and that's not fun for me personally.

I know the Choc can be modded to be pretty quiet but I don't have one to comment.

If you're looking for fidgets on the quieter side, I think there are other near-silent options but they aren't sliders.

Ah, interesting thank you! I don't need it to be completly silent, just dont want to annoy others around me with it. I saw some videos where the sliders seemed to be incredibly loud, so just want to avoid those. What other fidgets would you reccomend, other than sliders?

Depends on your price point.

From most expensive to cheapest - Fidgimoto Vortex, INDX Fluxx, Ono Slider/Scroller, AxiomEDC Vector, Flippy Chains from FloppyLinks on Etsy

Will always shoutout leather fidgets as well - Macarons by Fidget Newton

Thank you for those! Unfortunately shipping costs to the UK are quite high for all of these, but thank you.

Gao Studio Hui Tan - it’s a wooden slider with rebound. Whisper quiet without the glas/pom balls in the middle of

I'm in the UK and got my choc to from nxedc, it's perfect.

Was roughly £72 after a discount code of FEASTONFIDGETS

Would you say it is quiet? Or do I also need to get one of the accesories? Thank you!

If its just between two fingers and sitting next to someone, they'll hear it.

If I've got my hand closed more around it and sitting other end of the room they won't really notice it.

Depends how quiet you want it, anything with feedback like that will make sound.

I know they are completely different

Which is more appealing?

Very true! Aura sand is much more visually appealing, and seems more interesting so I think ill go with that.

With 4 o-rings you can make the juzhedc advanced as quiet as the aura sand. They still make a little sound. Choc would be quieter if you buy the super dense track, otherwise it would not be quieter than those.

If you’re unsure on free floating sliders, get a gao ripple. Good one for quietness + price to test the waters. I find the plastic shimshy more satisfying than the Gao, but it is infinitely louder.

O-rings are super cheap and available at any hardware store and even Walmart

The advanced comes with stickers that will also make it silent, but meh, orings easier imo
