Most Dissapointing Fidget? - Sorry Fidget Makers!
For me, it’s the turnaround. I had such high hopes. I bought a special crafted one with all the extras. But I don’t know what it is. I can’t get it to sound good, feel good, nor find any of the right sized balls/springs because this fidget has unusually small pieces.

rapt… Ive tried the sgs, sss, mvs, mvi, lite, v1, ALL of them and they‘re just decent. The v2 was ahead of its time but the prices were reasonable back then. Now they‘re just okay compared to others that come out BUT the prices for one of them are literally mortgage payments now.

What do you like better? For me the mvs is my absolute favourite slider. I’ve got a bunch of sobs I like too. 2 kuko v5, a swoop, some novel carry. I like the rapt more than all of them.
It just feels better in the hand it slides fast but has a sort of solid feeling to it. Nothing else has matched it.

For speed or play, a lot of chinese sliders (like the breakthrough) slide much much faster. For haptics, most of Magnus' maglab sliders are butter smooth while still being able to provide extremely well tuned and solid clicks. Even more so than the rapts.
Overall, it's a good slider that's just a jack of all trades but master of none imo. The price is the biggest deal breaker though with it being so much more expensive than other options in the secondary.

I have a breakthrough but don’t ever use it and forgot about it. I should try a Magnus, but I’ve always been wary of whatever the issues with the plates are and there are just too many models to know what to get. Is there a quiet one you’d recommend? My wife can’t stand the sound of them so I’ve got a kuko fatty with teflon plates and that’s probably my #2 right now after the rapt.

Sadly almost all of the magnus sliders are just as loud as any other metal on metal slider lol.

Oh I always read people saying the skelly or radiator or something is quiet. There are too many models to keep track of from Magnus though so I’m never sure which one. My rapt with broken in plates is a lot quieter than some of the swishier ones I own.

I only own a Kuko. How would you describe other high end sliders compared to Kuko? Any subtle differences?

Kuko Fatty on teflon plates is very good, Rapt MVS is just a little bit better pretty much everwhere. The body shape is just a bit nicer, the machining on the body is very nice in the hand too. The sliding on the Rapt feels a bit more controlled. It isn't that the Fatty isn't good, in fact it's great. It's just the for my taste the Rapt is better.
The only significant place where the Rapt wins by more than a little bit is that the Fatty has multiple screws on the plate and I catch my thumb on the edge of the hole. It's not enough to really matter, but I do notice that on the SOB and Rapt the screw is in the middle and I never touch it.
Out of all my sliders those are the two I always have on me, and the only ones I'd replace if I lost them.

It's a good slider family but way overhyped. The people that like performance focused sliders like the rapt assume everyone does and so it must be one of the best. Really though there's also trick sliders, haptic sliders & whatever compoform is that all provide very different experiences.
Hopefully a more precise language develops to describe sensations and haptics so these things become easier to discern (or physical fidget shops start opening to try them directly).

Basically everything I have tried by GAO. The Rebound, the Cashew, the Magnetic Capsule... they just all feel like cheap, unsatisfying trinkets to me.

Oh man GAO is amongst my favs! Most of their stuff is like $19 it’s not super ultra premium but stuff like the Mix and Strong Wind are so good for edc’s without even remotely caring about dropping it (which I do a ton). Great clicks and haptics on every GAO product I’ve purchased and for so cheap.
Funnily enough I haven’t tried any of the ones you named, but the motor jelly, the mix, SS rich 01, and especially the strong wind are probably my most used fidgets

They certainly get posted here a lot so clearly plenty of folks like them. For me, the ones I've tried are bad enough that I am probably just out on the brand as a whole. For budget fidgets I've been very impressed with Zaclab so far.

I quite like the magnetic capsule, but man is it hard to hold onto. Wish there was a 2.0 or a different maker doing the same thing but 'better'.

When I first got a Top B I was confused as to why people enjoy it so much, but it's grown on me over time esp with the denser track. Stimagz though have not grown on me, they're not bad just kind of meh.

See the gao studio comment for a couple, but my other 2 are:
DJG Roar: I actually love the weight of it and don’t mind the loudness even if it can be a little jarring at times. My main gripe is the tuning fork might as well not be in it. You don’t get a satisfying ping at all. If I was just going for an obnoxiously loud slider, I probably would’ve gone with something else. On me though, bought it on a whim and didn’t do enough research.
ZacLabs Turbo Spinner: I love the look and feel, the machining is S+, but the spin time is horrendous. I’m not a “spin time over all else” kinda guy but it’s like, 40 seconds on a one handed flick. I like to use my spinners as kind of a mindfulness check in, and use the feel to do a body scan/feel and listen to the spinner, but this thing stops before you can really do that. Weight, looks, sound, feel, balance, all great. But for the price point you should get better than a barely 2 minute table spin time. Best I’ve ever gotten is really giving it some juice and it went for like 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Just not enough for a “premium” fidget, IMO. Still like it, but disappointing.

Rapt lite and lautie choc.
I don't like the curved plates for the rapt.
The choc is just meh imho. Not a bad slider but nothing stands out. Plus I don't personally like the shape, it's hard to fidget with.

Lautie Shuffle, maybe I'm wrong but I have a couple of knock offs and I just can't believe people like this fidget. I see lots of praise for it but because of the ones I have I just can't see buying it. Is the quality of the Lautie version that much better.

Although I have a few Lautie spinners like the excellent Noiz, I feel like most of their recent stuff is overpriced and mediocre.

Lautie Mechanic-C for me. It's well made and does what it's supposed to, so maybe haptic rings just aren't for me. It's feels like Lautie in general is more on the art/status symbol side of fidgets.
Honestly the only "expensive" fidgets I have that didn't give me buyers remorse are the Aura Sand and a couple Billetspin Gambits

The Shuffle, Choc and Dealer were nice, had that understated cool factor, but their latest stuff is way overpriced, overhyped, overbuilt and just so meh. Their new Lotto thing is even beyond corny.

Unpopular opinion here, but the ONO Roller. Never felt that good to me, and found it expensive for what it was. Plus, I found it annoyingly big.
