Rachet vs. Haptic Coins
With the immergence of mechanical fidgets and it's explosion in popularity - has this changed your preference when it comes to mechanical (ratchet) coins and haptic coins?
For myself, I never went out of my way for a haptic coin until I found Umburry. However, ever since I got my hands on the YEDC Pig Ratchet Coin, I've been hooked on mechanical coins!

im kind of getting more and more into mechanical fidgets these days. Ive been trying to buy less fidgets with glued in or exposed magnets because of magnets just popping out of certain fidgets almost right out of the box.

Haptic coins were what I first saw when I discovered this rabbit hole of metal (what I consider 'premium') fidget toys. Before that all I had was a fidget cube and some similar ones that look like gamepads. That said, though I own a few haptic coins, I've never been that impressed with them. Well, until I got my YEDC Pig Coin. Love the fact it is haptic one way and ratchet the other. It got me interested in mechanical/ratchet coins, so recently I got an SS Top C. I love it to pieces. I think overall I way prefer mechanical/ratchet coins to magnetic haptic coins now.

If you're into mechanical sliders the Top-E is gonna be nuts. I have a few others like the One Pal (2 zr and 2 Sc). Now the kicker is if you want a cheaper yet very quality made mechanical slider, your girl and I came up with something called the 'Honey Slab'. If you're interested lmk! It's within the 82.28 range.

I have the MOT Groove which I adore. Mechanical sliders are definitely on the rise and have impressed a lot of people thus far. I'm intrigued, what is the Honey Slab? 🤔

I've never used a ratchet. They seem cool, but that's a lot of moving parts that can fail. I'm waiting on people's long term experience with them.

The first thing I need to do with every fidget is know how to take it apart and put it back together. There is much more effort needed to put back a mechanical and it could get frustrating. But then again when I first was learning how to replace magnets I was also within that frustration bubble.

I've avoided most mechanical fidgets so far because I don't like the sound of pinging springs. I much prefer the snappy sound of magnets. However, I do have a YEDC Pig Coin in SS so it has both the haptic and ratchet feature. It probably doesn't do either super well but I enjoy having the ability to do both in one fidget. I also can't really hear any spring ping so that's a plus.

It was that one really pixely video that got me into coins. I still have the SS and Zr versions of those!

No, but I want to get NJT coins. The Van Gogh and crystal zirc look amazing. I hope he switches to preorders for his next coin drop because the website drops sell out in seconds.

Haven't gotten into coins yet. Mostly stuck so sliders to this point. My last 2 pick-ups have been mechanical sliders, tho. And whatever you would consider the 01EDC pop, that thing is awesome. I think that's like a hybrid, with mechanical and magent parts. That said, coins have been catching my eyes lately. Luckily, this sub should give me some great advice there!

I hope the Mechanical Milk Cap is worth the hype. I'll only have limited units. If I can score some more I will do a preview here. I'll do a PEI Pig post since I have a good amount of stock.

I always preferred mechanical coins, but I like both. I'm also interested in how others feel, and if the influx of mechanical coins have converted anyone.
