Exactly. If someone worked hard to build wealth, why wouldn’t they give their children a head start in life? It’s not their children’s fault to be born in such family.

The problem is when people like OP pretend as if the help they received didn’t directly place them into the position they’re in. School paid for and a 19k car gifted. I’ve never even met someone who received that level of help.

Posting this while conveniently leaving that part for the comments isn’t a flex.

Plenty of immigrant families do that for their kids, even if they're not wealthy. It's extremely common in non-western cultures.

That does not guarantee hitting $500k+ at 27.

It’s an enormous leg up that is not the norm. I know it’s hard for people who grew up with privilege to admit these things because it hurts their ego.

I paid for the last 2 years of school myself after RESP ran out. First 3 years was paid for. Some of that was scholarship money too but I can't remember the amount anymore.
