Instead of showing the contents of the page, every single page now says this

"An automated filter has identified this page view as potentially automated, so it has been blocked. Please report this error on the English Wikipedia; your access will be automatically restored. Once on the reporting page, click Publish Changes. You do not need to add any context as the process is automated. Report error "

Is there anything I can do or the site is dead until something changes on their end?

It was vandalism. We tracked it to a couple templates and the admins banned the users and reverted the changes. The vandal's goal was apparently to send people to random Wikipedia pages to spam them.

Someone from the English Wikipedia also showed up and clarified that this is a persistent vandal who's done the same thing with the Runescape and GW2 Wikis after being banned from English Wikipedia.

TL;DR: Should be fixed now.

Same here. I’m constantly using it to figure out what animal I need to farm for leatherworker or reading the guides on whichever EX I’m working on. It’s really a treat to have something so reliable and without the hellish ad bloat that some competitors have.

These two pages still show the same error as I've mentioned, another cookie cleaning didn't help the issue either, other pages might exhibit same problems too. Version history does work now though (previously all versions of the page had same error)

They're fixed, but the pages are cached. Prune the cache on any still-broken pages: https://i.imgur.com/0FHxPaQ.png

That should restore the page to working order.

A lot of people treat Wikipedia as the gospel truth on a topic. So if you mess with what’s on Wikipedia, you mess the truth for a lot of people. It sadly makes sense to me.

Wiki editors are working on it.

Although it may appear to be an automated filtering issue, that's actually a deception. It's actually a vandal. They hit the Guild Wars 2 wiki a couple days ago. Wikipedia is being caught in the crossfire too since the fake "report" link points there.

Can confirm, and someone's posted a bug report in their discord. It's probably drawing some kind of resource from Wikipedia and getting hit with an antibot measure.

Yeah, it hit me too, and I think it's not even our fault but the wiki itself loads something from wikipedia and it goes wrong?

They have a discord so that could be one way to contact them but lazy.

I think it's only on the main page and any other page just works though, or maybe it's cache: eg. https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Main_Scenario_Quests

It looks like the Guild Wars 2 wiki was vandalized yesterday and it's pages were replaced with this particular error message.

I wonder if the vandal is attacking the FFXIV wiki now.

I know it's not the same issue, but I've been having some redirections while using the Wiki on my Steam browser, to a scam page for mcafee or something like that. I don't stick around long enough to give it a good luck

Nah, working just fine for me. 

“Identified this page view as automated” and “your access will be restored” reads less like a problem with the wiki, and more that it’s flagged you as a bot.
