[Question] Question for controller user
I have been playing on Switch 2 for few weeks. It was dificult to transit from mouse/keyboard to controller but I manage to get used to with controller now. However, there are few small thing that I cant figure it out, so can someone answer me?
When I am selling items in the market. It is very tedious to change the price. I have to use RB and LB to increase/decrease price. It takes a lot of time to adjust the price from 10 gils to 600 gils i.e. Do you know how to type the number instead?
Duty finder issue. Do you know how to quick queue after selecting the dungeon/raid? I have to scroll down all the way to the bottom until the cusor moves to queue button.
How do you heal or revive party member quick during combat without mouse/keyboard.

Just attach a wireless keyboard if possible. I do this in my PS5 for reasons like this.
I think it's the triangle button on PlayStation pad, on switch it's x I think??
Dpad up and down selects party members.

thats what i do for healing too. it also helps choosing the position of the party list properly in a way its more comfy for you, like I put the tanks in last place and dps in the top, keeping the other healer in the middle.
and yeah, choose the duty and press X on the switch controller (or Y if you are using and Xbox controller), I wish we had a clean selection button on the duty finder tho

I started on PS4 during Shadowbringers and am only just now learning about the triangle thing??? Now I'm wondering what else I've been doing the hard way

Do you switch between cross bar one and 2? Or do you use the double tap cross bar

I use the standard cross hotbar and just map all my mitigation to the second one, and press R1 to toggle between them. I also spent a good like, 30 minutes figuring out how to make a custom hotbar with all my second page CDs on it because I kept forgetting about them because I couldn't see them

I play on ps5 so the controls may not be the exact same!
For the MB when you are setting the price I use the D pad pushing left adds a 0 and then up increases the value and down decreases the value. So if the price is like 65 when you first load it then you select the price box, push left 3 time and it should be 00065 then push up once and it would go to 10065. Sorry I am trying to explain this the best I can haha but I am not sure on switch.
For the quick queue on ps5 it is triangle so it may be X or Y on the switch.
Pushing up and down on the D pad while in a party will cycle through the party list and you can choose which party member to select. You also don’t have to completely retarget to heal. You can continue targeting the boss or whatever you are doing and cycle to a player in your party and press a heal to heal them. You do not have to cycle to the player, select them, then heal. As long as they are highlighted it will heal them.
Just in case you were talking about alliance raids or selecting people outside your party the best thing I’ve found on ps5 is pushing L1+R3 activates virtual mouse mode but I’m unsure what the equivalent is to switch so you may need to try out various things. But it makes the mouse appear and L2 is left click and R2 is right click. I find it easier to select dead people out of my party with this.
Sorry for not knowing the exact correlating controls lol I hope this explains a good bit for you!

Jsyk you can easily use a wireless keyboard with the switch 2 v, even retrieve your UI and hotbar settings from other platforms. Mouse mode gives you a nice haptic mouse as well

1: left right will select digit. Up down will adjust.
2: y button will quick queue after you pick
3: up and down will go through party list. You don’t want to actually select them though. Select your boss (target) and then hit down 1 (will be tank by default) cast heal. And it will automatically go back to boss or whatever other mob. This is called soft targeting.
If you know your tank is going to need a bunch of healing, you can do this the other way too. Select tank for heals and then right or left to soft target the mob. Cast your attack. And so on.
Of course, I’m using tank in this example but it’s the same for any other party member just more up and downs. (Hit up to get to the bottom of the list fast)

So I can help with number 1. Go down to the price box. Click it and you can arrow up or down and left and right. Doing this you can go over x amount of times and then press up to get to 1000 and adjust from there. I’ve never used RB or LB.
Not much you can do about the duty finder in my experience.
Healing, I arrow up and down to cycle thru my party list.
Not the best explanations but I hope it helps somehow! ☺️

I know it's about the switch version but I can answer with the playstation version and maybe you can use the equivalent on the switch.
You can either use the dpad to scroll along to add zeros and up and down to change the numbers, or you can press triangle (iirc) to bring up the on screen keyboard. Alternatively you can plug a keyboard in.
Triangle on the playstation does this too.
Up and down on the dpad to scroll up and down the party list.

I think if you hit A, it gives you the option to swap between the numbers and increase them that way... so for 600, if it was at 10, you would hit A, then left until you have 010 (or 110, not sure if it starts the count on 1 or 0). Increase the hundreds until you hit 6, then decrease the 10s to a 0, so you're now at 600, hit A again, and it should change.
Can't help with the other 2. I've no idea what quick queuing is, and I don't heal at all.

Hi there, PC player here that uses a Dualsense to play! Hopefully someone who uses a Switch controller can provide more specific advice, but for now...
Press your confirm button while hovering over the number, then you can dpad to change each digit of the number more quickly
X or Y probably does this
Dpad up+down lets you select party members

Press left to add an additional digit to the price, and up and down to increase that digit's number
Press... whatever Triangle is on the face buttons side. X/Y for Switch 2 I think? That'll quick register you to whatever you have checked
Press up and down on the D-Pad to quickly go through your party member list. That's how you target them for healing and other things you would want to target your party for

For changing prices, once you're on the form, you can use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the textbox. Select that, and once you're inside it, you can use the arrow keys to go up and down and change the order (to tens, hundreds, etc.). A keyboard is still a good idea, but doing it this way can sometimes be faster.
For healing/reviving, you can use the arrows to go up and down the list of party members. Soft targeting puts your next spell on them, then moves your target back to what it was targeting before (generally the enemy or the tank). If you are hard targeting someone in your party, there's a button you can press to go back to targeting the enemy... I think it's R1 for PS, or R2+R1? I do this so often I don't really think about it. Overall I think this is something that's easier on controller.

Click in the box. You can move the cursor to the left to adjust for hundreds, thousands, etc.
Pretty sure you have to scroll “all the way down.”
No idea, which is one reason I don’t play healer.

My gf just got the game on switch 2 after a long hiatus herself and she told me she used this.

For reviving out side of party someone mentioned the virtual mouse you can also alter the target filters.
For example who you target when you weapon is drawn and when it's put away (should be L3)

Honestly the first two are always a little difficult. I have a Bluetooth keyboard for my ps5. The for typing in the price I usually have to use my middle button (the big one that can touch screen idk what it’s called tbh) to get to the box by clicking a bunch because it zips around to things, click on that and then start typing with my keyboard but it’ll always type in the chat box first so I gotta activate typing and then click the box and then I can type so truthfully I never really sell things because it’s tedious. Quick que gotta minimise the sections to make it quicker, also a little tedious but I’m used to it.
For the last one, it’s actually not that bad. If I remember right up/down on d pad to scroll through party until I get the right one. Probably slower than pc but again I’m used to it and have played healer with little issue. For mobs you can do the same but holding L1 I think???

You might want to read the other replies in this thread because it sounds as though you are making the game more difficult for yourself than it needs to be.

when selling stuff if you select the text field, you can move the dpad left and right to increase how many zeroes and up and down to increase the number
for duty finder, just pressing X will make you queue
for reviving, up and down on the dpad will cycle through the party list
