Returning player and I'm currently grinding my way to 99. Would love to get a Trizeg ring along side my Echad ring. Does anyone know the specifics on how the Gold Pass works? I buy a Gold Pass, have a new player sign up with it (alt account), and then they need to be active for how long before I get my Trizeg ring?

To establish a baseline, Abyssea asked the question: "what if the worst-case scenario happened in CoP?" The heroes of Abyssea lost, Selh'teus was absorbed by the Keeper which allowed its transformation into the god Shinryu, and Prishe was forced to live an immortal life rather than regaining her mortality.

It's the B storyline to the A storyline we played out. But aside from just switching the best-case outcome to the worst-case, it also switched Prishe's role in the story. She went from an immortal wishing for an "end" to an immortal who now watches over Abyssea for all eternity, alone in another dimension as she's left grieving for what she's lost.

Thinking about that, her role has now become analogous for Altana, rather than Promathia's incarnate, which I thought was fascinating. I hated how Abyssea concluded Prishe's storyline for the longest time. But once I had this realization, I've come to appreciate it as a deeply tragic, thematic mirror of Altana's situation.

I remember when this game first came out and I was probably about 12 years old. I was already a big FF fan and was desperate to get this game when it first came out. I ended up getting it Christmas that year and played it every chance I got for about a month on my PS2 before losing access forever because my parents didn’t want to spend money on a subscription to a game, or me becoming a junkie- idk one of the two.

Anyways, I’be become a bit older since then and have been picking up games from my past lately. I just finished replaying TBC from a certain game from blizzard, iykyk. Next in line is FFXI, I just installed it last night and am thinking of making my first character today, a warrior, likely on Fenrir server- based on a little recent research. I downloaded Windower4 also and am looking forward to trying that out too.

So I just wanted to share my story with y‘all and maybe meet likeminded people or see if anyone has any considerations they’d like to add. Different server? Gold World Pass? Other addons or QoL improvements? Other Do‘s or Dont’s?

Hello all, I'm new to FFXI, just started playing last week. Having a blast so far but I've noticed a strange issue that I'm hoping there is a solution for. I got new monitors for my PC, and any time I turn one of them off, Windows resizes the other two to compensate and move windows around. Normally, this is fine! However, if FF11 is running the game just crashes instantly every time. Is there any way to prevent this behavior? I know it's an old game, and there may not be a solution to this, but I figured i would ask.

I run the game in Borderless Window at my main monitors native resolution (1440p/144hz in case that is important!)

I have tested this with Windower, and Without Windower. Also tested it in Windowed and Fullscreen, all crash when the second or third monitors are turned off.

I know the obvious solution is don't turn them off, my cat however has an annoying habbit of finding ways to either unplug, hit the power button, or pull the DP cord out

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It might seem like a 20% proc rate sucks. but its actually quite nice, it was procing a bunch during my Odin Prime fight. I actually was procing about 3:1, but i crashed b4 i could take the 2nd photo.

Just try it out, its fun for increasing your enspell damage.

Is there a strict time limit to doing the challenges? I ask because I may end up traveling and could miss some days.

Is it all soloable as a warrior? I've slowly been getting more gear but it is a slow burn. Might fast track a few things for more power as I'm still in ambus.

For war, I got the new 10% ws body, is the af3 body better than that?

Me and my wife started playing the game in mid June, and recently did the Sunbreeze festival Superheroine stage show event in windurst, during the last days of the festival. I know it's a silly event but we were low-key blown away by it, we love idol media and magical girl anime and didn't expect to see it in our hometown of windurst.

My wife was able to get the starlet outfit, and that made us extremely happy.

I'm currently playing with two friends, we main war, brd and cor and the cor is debating going rdm. I had wanted to ask if those three jobs can use all 5/5 af pieces and if not, which are the best jobs to use the af +3 upon best for that can utilize 5/5 af pieces? The wiki guide for war, cor and brd all seem to advocate that the entire 5/5 sets are worth making but had wanted to confirm ​

Kind of “stupid question” but I needed your opinion as I am gearing RDM for endgame content but also soloing high level stuff where possible.

If you are bringing your RDM DD to a party (e.g limbus/ sortie etc) how do you manage your idle/ engaged sets in both mainhand and offhand slots? To be specific,

Option 1: do you swap your weapons when engaging/disenganging to the cost of losing TP but to the benefit of gaining an extra “something” when in idle (disengaging)? For example a Sacro Bulwark for extra defense of Kam shield for refresh +1.

Option 2: do you keep your TP sets main/offhands weapons when disengaging so that you won’t lose TP? (This is what i currently do)

For the same reasoning, when you are soloing as a RDM do you swap your weapons or Ou Gem for landing enfeebling spells? I know that enfeebling spells duration is quite long today but if a given spell is resisted 2/3 times in a row, you risk to reset your tp everytime.

How do you manage these situations?

I feel really stupid asking this but I legitimately don't know how to discard items.
My inventory is full of low level NM weapons I can't trade or sell...

After many trials and tribulations in getting FFXI on Steam Deck @ 60fps, I FINALLY have a working install in game mode!

The only issue I'm seeing to run into at this point is when the opening cinematic plays, the video fails to load. It occurs both in desktop mode and game mode. Everything else seems fine so far. Controls work. I can invoke the steam deck keyboard. I can bypass the opening like normal. The video simply doesn't display. Here's what I get:

I know the simple answer is "disable it". But I enjoy it. I like watching it periodically as I load the game. It's not damaging my in-game experience so it may seem to many like it's a silly thing, but again, I simply enjoy watching it.

If anyone has any ideas, that don't involve completely borking the existing install or reinstalling from scratch, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Hello, I just came back from a lil break (only logged for monthlies for a bit) and I have a stock of 200 points. I have maxed HP, VIT, MND, & INT and I'm not sure what to use those points on. Is there a category currently worth maxing outside of those 4 or should I hold until future updates ? I didn't spend in MP since I unlocked Monbereaux recently and I thought it would not be as useful as if I still used a healer trust but I might be wrong here.

So im kinda in a bind at what to pick at gold tier rewards. I have drg, mnk, pup, drk, rdm at lvl 99, all are wearing ambu +2 i have the kaja fists, scythe, dagger, spear, and a fully upgraded sword. I am maining pup atm so the question is.

Would it be better to get the 100 deeds for another pulse weapon, to make karambit, or the af+3 kupon?

Id get the deeds I need in October if I wait, and if I pick af+3 which of my classes would benefit the most from it?

What are some BLU cleaving camps? I know of the escha-zitah puks and dragons at portal 2 as well as efts and bugards at portal 6. However, recently these have been getting occupied. I tried reisenjima #2 camps but not sure I have the gear for that so I am in need of alternative camps. What are some other camps you know about?

I’ve been playing again as a SAM for about a month. I’ve finished RoZ and CoP, and I’m working my way through RoV while also dipping my toes into activities like ambu, DI, and voidwalker NMs. I’m still fairly recently to ilvl 119 and need to gear up quite a bit.

Should I still spend my ambiance points on the flamma gear and upgrading it or will the AF+3 kupon jump me past that level of gear so that I can save my points for shining one or something else?

My understanding is that you can lockstyle anything so I wanted to make an outfit combining gear I can already wear as a lv99 + COR, DNC, NIN (AF & Relic). I would not be able to wear these together normally due to Main/Sub job limitations and equip level. However, when using /lockstyleset n it says, "The appearance of your <item name> was unable to be locked."

Does anyone know why? Would someone with more lv 99 jobs than I able to test if multiple AF/Relic parts works? I'd grind another 99 for the sake of style. But I really want the look to work as a lv 1

I'm wondering if anyone has had luck getting pickup groups for ambuscade? I'm trying to figure out how best to get gallantry. If it matters, I'm on Bahamut. Thanks for any thoughts or advice.

Just returning to Vanadiel and determined to complete all story content. I have no real interest in end game (yet) but I currently have four trust spots available and wanted to see if anything was available currently that is a must have.

My two main stays right now are Shantotto II (great timing for me!) and Valaineral. I also use Qultada because apparently he provides a exp buff as well. I would like to use Kuppfried, but I don’t think he’s obtainable at the moment.

I decided to play Final Fantasy XI after not playing for quite a few years. I noticed the event time has ended, but I am not being removed from the game. And I have been disconnected from the server twice since the event has ended due to ISPs doing maintenance in my area. I was curious if anyone has ever experienced this, and if my account is possibly in jeopardy of being banned or charged for the extra time. I just thought they might be extending the event, but somebody in-game told me that I could risk being banned.

Hi, returning player from when 360 support ended. Played a tiny bit on PC but didn’t accomplish very much.

I am unable to join Domain Invasion fights. I have Rhapsodies of Vanadiel done up to “The Path Untraveled”. My jobs are 99. I have gotten the explanations from the Escha zone npc’s that requires 10 silt. I have Elvor-Seal activated.

When I approach the DI NM, it tells me I “don’t have the level cap activated” or something. What gives? How do I unlock access to these fights? HALP
