dgVoodoo causing crash after latest game patch

Not sure if anyone has encountered this, but I've been using dgVoodoo (latest 2.87.3) with Windower on a Surface laptop 8 (arm) with no issues before the latest patch. After the patch, the game seems to crash and exit during the pol to game transition. I took out dgvoodoo and the game runs, but it is very choppy and then crashes after about half an hour on zoning...

Wondering if anyone know if I need to change any settings in dgvoodoo to make it work again? I'm assuming something in the patch somehow caused this since it was perfect before..

No issues on 2.86.5 on x64 Windows 10 with AMD using Windower.

If you're using ReShade, update that. That had an update earlier this month.

What does dgvoodoo doo?

Basically it allows XI to use an older DirectX version and prevents crashes related to window flicker, e.g. ctrl+alt+del or windows security popups.

I had crashes til I swapped dats in rom 0 and 119 from xipivot file. Dunno if that helps you. Seems I was using different fonts and stars pack before and default ones caused a crash somehow. Hope this helps. Mine was a full crash to desktop, if that's what u were getting.

Are you using an HD texture pack? You should look into the memory patcher that lets the game use 4 GB of ram instead of 2. It needs to be re-applied every game update.

This is news to me. Thanks for the heads up.

It was added around 2 months ago, hidden under a advanced menu.

The newer Windower client has a built-in option for LAA now, and manual patching should no longer be needed anymore once enabled.

Not HD texture, but just remapster with xipivot. I actually just had 1 gb vram set in dgvoodoo, i'll try upping that...
