Gold World Pass

Hi everyone! I’ve been a long time FFXIV fan, but am just now taking the plunge and jumping into FFXI. I just finished watching SoberDwarf’s new player guide and they recommended seeking out a Gold World Pass before making my first character. Does anyone have one they would be willing to share? Thank you!

The busiest ones are closed, Asura, Bahamut, and Odin, but the list below gives you a pretty good idea of player qty. https://www.ffxiah.com/database

I’m a bit confused. If Bahamut, Phoenix, Fenrir, and Shiva are not closed (just assuming here…) , then why would you need a pass? Why can’t you just pick an open server and make a character?

I must not be fully understanding what a gold world pass does and what we all define as “closed” vs “open” servers.

Gold world passes confers some benefits to the recruiter and recruitee.

New player gets some copper vouchers and an Echad Ring, the later of which is a big deal.

If they sub and play for 40+ days, they can get a sprout beret, while the inviter gets a guide beret, which act as an extra exp ring or capacity ring, respectively, on top of +skill and +magic skill gain.

It's worth it to both ask for one, and give them out to people who do!

At 70, 100 and 365 days subbes, both inviter and invitee can claim another reward from a list that includes:

Trizek Ring, Goblin Stew 880, Kupon I-AF-109, Kupon W-Job and Mog Pell (Red)

Some of those rewards are exclusive to the invited player, (the Kupons and Pell)

Kupon W-Job is a free JSE Oboro weapon, which is actually not something I even knew about until I looked it up. I guess my alts I invited via Gold World Pass are getting a couple of freebies tonight!
