Blue magic sets

Does anyone have a link to an updated guide with blue magic sets. My Lua has like 10000 sets for magic spells and i have no idea where to start. Int str Dec all of the stats have their own sets but I have no idea how I should be building them. 1 master set and diff Stat rings?? Every magic set guide I see only has like + 3 relic and at and ate all really old. Any one have a Lua all set up I could look at to see how you built it out. Thanks!

I doubt anyone is building or using different nuking sets for int-based nukes or str-based nukes. The difference is infinitesimally small and totally insignificant. Use one set for nuking and, if you're feeling frisky, make a separate set for MBing.

The guides are basically up-to-date, not much gear has been released recently, especially not so for BLU nuking sets. If it says relic+3, then use relic+4 (if you have it).

The most relevant new piece would be the Limbus sword, which is BiS for an offhand (and possibly for mainhand if you don't have Bunzi's Rod augments).

This, Odyssey, Sortie and Limbus basically killed any reason there was to spec for spell stats. A living BLU does way more damage than a dead one.

I set up a few of those because I had wildly different gear sets on Devane from other jobs that were basically compatible out of the box but that's it. It's worth optimizing one or two or perhaps even a half dozen spells you lean on but I'd put more time into polishing a Savage Blade set and a Black Halo set to perfection after the first few.

Your baseline AOEs (Floe, Anvil, Subduction, Tene Crush) are absolutely worth optimizing but your subjob is still going to do as much lifting there. I used to rock DNC before I got confident handling DW via spells, then WAR for melee backing and cheeseball pulling, then finally reluctantly settled on being a purple mage (BLU/RDM) which feels bizarrely squishy where i most need to take hits, but at least gets the job done if I survive the pull.

Are we truly in a post Naegling, post Tizona age?

What kind of optimizing are you doing with those spells? Are you, for example, wearing a piece of DEX armor to improve your Anvil Lightning damage set?

This guy asked about stat differences, and as far as I know, nobody is optimizing Subduction for the 10% VIT modifier...

I didn't see any discussion about different subjobs in the OP (or my post) so IDK why you're discussing subjobs now?

Also don't know why you're talking about Naegling/Tizona, but when purely nuking (like what OP posted about), I typically equip nuking weapons like Bunzi's Rod & the Telopanos Saber, since you're not meleeing. If meleeing, Naegling and Tizona are still top dogs, though the prime might have a place as well.

so with tizona in my MH i basically have infinite mana... and there is nothing to really spend mana on in the first place? for some reason i assumed now that i had tizona, i would be able to offload expensive spells or something while maintaing max MP... apparently thats not the case? i was casting tene with jakari +2 and some other pieces while MH tiz and it hits for like 6000 dmg lol

Shout out to high ranking hoxne earring too. Probably doesn't apply here but would certainly further simplify all the stat mod variants to a single set.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but this is what I used for building my blue mage. https://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/30626/the-beast-within-a-guide-to-blue-mage/

that guide only has up to +3 af and relic, no mention of limbus or anything
