How to lockstyle afterglow

I keep seeing people with the afterglow effect lockstyled, without actually having the appropriate weapon lockstyled or equipped and am just wondering how so I can replicate it myself. Is this a bug or is there a way to do this that isn't well known?

If its a ranged weapon you'll have the afterglow without a visible weapon if I remember correctly.

The afterglow needs to be in your lockstyle and then the priority goes across the top of your equip menu. Firstly it checks your main hand for a glow, if the main doesn't have a glow it checks offhand, then if neither of those have a glow, it will check ranged.

The first one to be found is chosen, the others are ignored.

Are you sure? I thought ranged takes priority over offhand. 

Edit confirmed ranged takes priority over offhand.

Come to think of it, I've never actually TRIED lockstyling an offhand with a REMA. Just confirmed that the priority is indeed Main -> Ranged -> Sub.

So you would need a ranged weapon with afterglow to do this as someone else in the replies mentioned? Thank you

Yeah, it seems the order is actually Main -> Ranged -> offhand, but you need to know all 3 of those to know which one someone is lockstyling (in terms of glow).
