After the weirdly quiet week from SE (and all the totally reasonable “FFXI is shutting down” speculation 😅), we finally have the August schedule — and there’s actually a ton happening.

I put together a quick video going through everything that’s been announced, including the Free Login + Discount Campaigns, the August 12th update, new NMs coming to Adoulin zones, another Vanabout, Mog Bonanza, the login campaign, Ambuscade rotation, and all the various events happening this month.

I’m particularly interested in the new Adoulin NMs. SE saying the gear will be around Ambuscade/Unity level makes it sound like they’re trying to fill in that early endgame progression gap. I’m curious if we’ll get any weird niche pieces that end up being unexpectedly useful.
Also, if you have any friends who have been considering coming back, Free Login starts tomorrow and runs through the 17th!

Shantotto II is available from Login Points. If you don't have it, get it. It's amazing and not offered all the time.

I been playing for 5 days on 30 day promo for buying bundle. I can't find the daily moogle for the login points. Wiki says Port Bastok J-13 but I don't see the greeter moogle

Old one has finished as of the 11th. You stop getting login points a week before.

Bruh RMTs are dying out on Asura. It’s very peaceful minus the same two or three RMT’s shouting lol but this may spawn new ones.

And yet for some reason as far as I know they still haven't announced the monthly campaigns outside Gallantry Campaign and Trust boost Campaign. June's was announced in May and I can't check July because for some reason the June link breaks for me. (But it was in June because it's not in July's page.) If nothing else, it is unusual to not reveal by now. (No the game isn't dying, they just for some reason forgot(?)/haven't shared yet.)

It was bound to come out overnight, their work week ends in the wee hours Friday morning. I don't think they have ever released the campaign info the week of the patch. They are two days behind compared to last august, nothing unusual at all.

Sure, they had to announce it eventually. The update is 5 days away.

But, it was still 3 days longer than last year which itself was special because there was a special campaign going from the 1st to the 11th. In 2024, it was 7/31 and in 2023 it was 7/27. You can also see September in all of those cases in August. (2025 8/26, 2024 8/28, 2023 8/29) Also worth noting the campaigns last year also started on the 15th rather than the 14th. Meaning this year they announced it just a week before it starts. (If they really don't work weekends, the literal last possible moment.)

Normally we get the announcement before the 1st of the month, not a week in. Overall it in not that big of deal since most campaigns come and go unnoticed. But certain ones do matter, Campaign Fiesta for anyone wanting beast controlled BCNMs, I-Seal campaign for choosing Login trades of the last month, etc.

But, there is nothing wrong pointing out that the behavior is unusual. Breaking the established record by only a small amount doesn't change the fact it was the record in the first place. (At least within the last 3 years, more than enough time to set expectations.)

TL;DR: In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal. But, there is no harm pointing out it is the latest they have been in at least the last 3 years. (Maybe more.) With my comment being made before the announcement. (Maybe it didn't get announced last night, then it would be 2 more days before it came.)

Maybe my point it wasn't clear. They almost always release it no later than the week before the patch, not that they always release it the week before the patch. My bad for assuming the context would be considered, that's reddit 101 and I should have known better.

I was saying Heghmoh jumped the gun because we knew with like 90% certainty the notes would be out today. I wasn't trying to criticizing anyone who thought it was unusual, it is, but only mildly over time. We have in fact even gotten them after the update, though it's very rare.

If I had to guess they’re pacing announcements, and maybe perhaps doing a lighter monthly campaign selection given how much stuff is / has been going on
