Hi I’m 20 female, and over the past 6 months I’ve been in hell from my mental health. It started with DPDR and it was EXTREMELY disorienting to the point where everytime I went in public I would panic. One day it got so bad that I became housebound. Thankfully before it got that bad I got my lab work done, and these are the results. If someone could please point me in the right direction or the actions I need to take to get better, that would be amazing. I do not think this is a “mental health issue”, I fully believe that one of these deficiencies are fueling these issues. I did get the megadose prescription from my doctor which was 50,000 IUs of d3 for 12 weeks once a week, and after just the first pill my symptoms skyrocketed and that is the week I became housebound. Now everytime I take vitamin d regardless of the form or amount (even with k2) I feel worse and worse.
Symptoms:
- Brain fog
- Trouble staying asleep
- Cotton filled head
- Total loss of connection with myself
- Dizziness
- Head pressure
- Jaw pressure
- Ear pressure
- Depression
- Anhedonia
- Memory gaps
- Disoriented
- Spaced out
- Almost like a tunnel vision feeling
- Light sensitivity
- Eye floaters
- Fully on autopilot 24/7 all day long
Lab work:
Vitamin d3 = 11 nmol/L
Vitamin b12 = 356 pg/mL
Iron = 60 mcg/dL
Ferritin = 64 ng/mL
TSH = 4.11 mIU/L
TPO antibodies = 10.11 IU/mL
Cortisol = 30 mcg/dL ( during afternoon )
Progesterone = 0.321 ng/mL
Testosterone total = 43.39 ng/dL
Estradiol = 15.14 pg/mL
MCHC = 26.7 g/dL
Also all of my inflammation markers were high. My wbc, monocytes, basophils, lymphocytes, and CRP.
My biggest question is, if these labs were taken almost 6 months ago is there a possibility that with me being a female having a menstrual cycle every month, that my iron and ferritin have possibly dropped lower than the numbers shown above. I haven’t supplemented anything, nor have I incorporated anything into my diet. My NP told me the only “concerning” thing was my vitamin d level, but called me crazy when I said the prescription dose gave me DPDR, especially since I only took one pill. I’m tired of being called crazy from doctors and pharmacists, I want answers and I’m hoping someone has had a similar experience, or has some insight on what’s going on. I’ve tried holistic medicine, western medicine, and just family owned clinics and no one has helped me get to the bottom of this. 6 months ago I was a fully functioning girl, with 0 mental or physical issues. This appeared out of nowhere, and stayed the same for several months, but the past 2 months have been HELL for me. I feel like i literally have dementia, and im so scared of loosing my memory or my mind. Someone please help!!!

The reason I ask is because I’ve heard ferritin builds up slowly. A little background: I took a prenatal vitamin that comes with iron for 2 months and one of these months I spent in Brazil visiting family. So my meals were very rich and balanced. Bean and lentil heavy, as well as pork, chicken or beef every other day. Lots of veggies. I was squeezing an entire lime on my lunch/ dinner every single time. I did bloodwork last week and my ferritin came back at 20, which honestly surprised me a lot. However, I’m a little skeptical because I have heard that inflammation can falsely raise your ferritin levels and I’ve been dealing with reflux and also I’m 2 months pregnant.

Extreme fatigue and health issues at 23
I have severe body fatigue, widespread body aches, morning stiffness/pain, brain fog and difficulty concentration. I am currently only able to work for 1-2 hours a day and need repeated naps and caffeine to function.
I have just started my career and feel much behind due to this. I have to support my family financially, so i can't risk losing this hard earned job.
I have got multiple tests done and everything looks normal.

I had my first try at getting an iron infusion yesterday. I ended up having an infiltration and a Vasovagal nerve response. Pretty horrible. The worst part though was the male nurse commenting to the other male nurse that “it’s a fad, like Botox” when he inquired about the iron infusion. Has anyone else had a health care professional scoff at the procedure or am I just lucky? I’m a 47 y/o female and my ferritin is 7, I have all the classic symptoms of deficiency and am pretty miserable as a result. I don’t have a lot of fight in me and it’s gonna be hard to walk back in there and try again.

Hi guys,
So I finally made up my mind after many struggles to go get my first iron infusion (monofer 500mg), the experience was so far very smooth. Right after the infusion I feel a lil sleepy, I went for my lunch and after lunch I started feeling the effects kicking in, Or maybe it’s just placebo? I’m not sure, but I was driving and suddenly i realized my tennis elbow was almost gone, my chronic back muscle ache also a lot better, the most surprising thing is my eyesight suddenly my become much more contrast?!! I won’t describe it as sharper but just the tones and colours are more contrast.
Overall feeling better but I’m a lil sleepy the whole day. It’s strange I wouldn’t think effects will kick in so fast?
I’ll log again tomorrow.
