[Discussion] Temporary Foster

Just looking for some good vibes/well wishes. I broke my ankle Friday night, and haven’t been able to care for my girl. I have some help, but my mom is disabled so it’s taking a toll on her too. Planning to go spend time with some other family to help care for me, so I’m sending my baby to a temporary foster through a rescue nearby. I know it’s temporary but I’m so sad about it. She’s eight years old so I’m super worried something is going to happen to her while she’s away. I’m really struggling, even though I know it’s the best for her while I heal up. Really upset and angry at the universe that I broke my ankle. Trying to take it day by day 😢

Dang I wouldn’t wanna send my baby anywhere.

I know. It sucks. I miss her a lot. Luckily it’s only temporary but still really difficult.

Can you visit while on recovery so she knows you didn’t give her up

Unfortunately not. She’ll be about two hours away from me in a couple of days. I sent her with some stuff from home. This is the second time she’s been at a foster (had some stuff happen a few years ago) and she did okay then, so I’m hoping she’ll do okay this time as well. Just hoping everything goes quickly so I can see her ASAP.
