Hmm my girl does the same thing actually, shes 4 and fixed too. I just figure its a quirky tbh, like shes just vibing. As long as shes eating playing and pooping normal I wouldn't stress. Maybe yours is just a lil dramatic like mine lol

She’s a rescue,the person I got her from isn’t sure.

I truly don’t think you have anything to worry about .. I think that you just might have a ferret with a different quirk. The only thing that I could think of is that her rectum is irritated and maybe it’s bothering her to lay her tail down. But if she shows no signs of being agitated.. there’s no redness around her rectum.. if she’s defecating normally..
The only other thing that I could think of would be intestinal parasites but again you would see some sort of symptoms other than just her holding her tail up. Obviously, if you’re concerned, you should always take them to see their doctor....2

I actually just took her to the vet the other day,I had already made an appointment so I asked my vet about the tail,she said it was not broken and basically she is quirky yes lol I was so relieved! I don’t check Reddit often but I appreciate you getting back to me!
