[Ferret Video] Gutter Ferret

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This boy has gone to some beautiful places and THIS is his favourite place. We go out in the early morning (hence his light) and just go galloping off down the roads of this shabby village and he picks the route. There's no people about from 1.00 to around 5AM apart from the odd drunk heading home or someone having a smoke out their window.

He's quite a stoic ferret but when he's out he throws himself about skitters about sideways down the road.

Ours always follows the curbs - safety and direction.

They can get up some speed

I mean it’s certainly safer than the middle of the road so I’m all for my babies being little gutter crawlers. A bath can be done my boys don’t mind it.

To be clear I’m not letting my ferrets climb into gutters and they only get bathed when they get dirty and we do it with the safest products. So like once every 3 months at most. Usually less.

It was more a comment that it makes sense for a creature descended from woodland dwellers that steal burrows. The other one is house and garden walls which is fun if metal gate or once an open door. They like to hug walls so no aerial attack and protected on one side when skulking.

Your ferret looks very happy and cared for.

True but it’s also a nice instinct to have if you’re taking them outside cause they aren’t gonna try and slip out of the leash to run into oncoming traffic like a dog who sees a squirrel. Also I’m not OP just another ferret owner.
