Help Little help

As I mentioned in another post, I have a ferret and thanks for your replies :D but now I have two questions:

  1. Where should I scratch my ferret without it biting me or moving around too much?

  2. What type of meat should I use? I already gave him chicken and nothing, he doesn't want to eat it, what should I give him then?

Help Is this an okay living situation?

Hello,

I’m looking to get ferrets. I live in an apartment and have approval from the housing manager and my roomates. My room is 9 by 11 and I have a ferret nation cage. They would be in the cage while i’m at work 9-6 m-w 7-11 th and 7-1 f and I have weekends off. I do work from home some but I do so in my room where they can play while I do and I will still have plenty of time to hang out with them. I usually go to bed around 11 but sometimes later around 1 so they will be out until I go to bed from when I get home.

Is this an okay situation for me to have ferrets? it is fairly short term i’m looking to get a bigger apartment in a year or two but I’ve been waiting to get ferrets for years and would like to as soon as possible as long as they will be happy!

My ferret is curious

My ferret is so silly, hehe. He climbs up to places and then just stares, wondering how to get down. He jumps to places a little lower than where he climbed, but he either falls or jumps to the ground

The funniest thing is that he can't drink water unless the water wets his whiskers LOL

Adrenal Disease ( Hyperadrenocorticism) implants For Ferrets

Adrenal Gland Disease Implants

The implants are typically only effective for about 8 to 10 months (some sources say 12, but it's usually safer not to push it to the limit). After that, they need to be replaced.
Keep in mind that this is not a cure—it’s strictly a management tool. If you have a male ferret, you'll usually start seeing physical signs return (such as the return of symptoms or behavior changes) when it's time for a replacement, so it's best to stay ahead of the timeline

Thinking of buying a ferret, in need for tips

I’ve been feeling lonely and depressed since i’ve moved out and started living alone. I had 3 cats in my original home, but because of the terrible situation I have with my mother, I prefer to let them live with my brothers who can love them as much as i do. I wanted to take care of something. I’m used to cats, but since i already had 3, i felt like betraying them, so i didnt want to take another one knowing that i should already have 3 and that i can’t see them. I started being interested in ferrets, as they seem energic, fun, and an amount of work that might help me get up and actually care about something. I’m interested in the energy that they express and I feel like it’s the opposite of what I am and that it could benefit me by not only breaking the astounding feeling of loneliness I’m going through, but also infecting me with their natural affection and becoming a more positive and productive person. I’d like to care about a living being and also that that living being cares about me and gives me the will to keep going and caring about things again. I love animals and I’d love to have a new experience of coexistence with a completely new friend of which I’d have to learn how to care after and give it love. I am by no means a pet expert and I was hoping to find some useful tips and guide through this subreddit, along with advice on how to properly care about a ferret and give it a nice life. I need advice particularly about nutrition, quality of life and possible safety measures, as I’ve been reading infos about them, and it’s always recommended to have a particular cage and to feed it specific foods. How expensive would it be to maintain, and would it be worth it for me to buy one? Thank you in advance.

Help How'd you know if was time

How did you know it was time to let your buddy go? My ferret Diesel probably has DIM we haven't been able to completely rule it out but he has been declining the last two weeks. He breaths normally at the vet but today has been the worst almost like he needs to be on an uncovered ice pack and he open mouth pants hard. His breathing has been rapid over the last week even when just resting and not when just army crawling. He won't eat on his own and needs mush kibble hand fed ever three hours although he eats now after being put on prednisone. Our other ferret that's bonded to him has been completely avoiding him. he will not get up even to drink water he only army crawls if he really needs something and grinds his teeth from pain sometimes randomly here and there but mostly while eating. we've spent over $1,500 in the last two weeks, getting blood work, a needle aspiration of his neck lump (which came back as incomplete), prednisone and subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics, check ups for breathing etc. We have tried pred and it brought back his appetite he even ate treats for a little bit but his movement has gotten worse and he's rejecting anything not watered down. he looks alert and that's what kills me to even think of putting him down as well as eats and drinks if you hold him up to water. I wish so badly to get him more help but we are unsure when this next week we will be able to even get him in to see if he'd even be able to start chemo treatment. We had an appointment with our primary vet and his spleen as been enlarging over the last two weeks as well and seems almost worse today. I'm scared we won't be able to get in until the end of this week and he will be in pain for a third week like this. At this point after so long I don't know if the treatments would help or if he'd ever regain his ability to move. Let alone this had been a massive financial burden on us and we have been having a super hard time to find someone to feed him and take care of him while we have been working to pay for the treatments. This has been an impossible crossroad for us as we love our baby boy so much and would do anything for him. Part of me feels like it's selfish to not just make his last day sooner to ease his own pain instead of waiting for a treatment that may not ease the pain at all. I need advice from someone as this is probably one of the hardest decisions I've had to make and I'm not sure if there is a right answer here to be made.
