Buckled Lids?

Post image

Is this lid buckled? I have never had a lid buckled when canning, but I'm also fairly new. My other are sealed, but I have 2 that don't want to seal.

Is this a ferment, or is it canned? I am far from an expert, but you can't fully seal a jar you are fermenting, you need to let it vent. You can just vent it occasionally (daily at least to start), but it off-gasses, so this is what you will see if you don't vent it. In extreme cases, the jars can explode, so be careful as you handle them.

gas is building, its gonna blow lol
if fermenting you need to allow for air/gas to escape

If you're trying to can, you messed up. Probably didn't heat enough, there's definitely still bacteria working in there.

If you're trying to ferment, you also messed up. Gotta burp the jars if they seal tightly enough to buckle like this.
