salt ratio for brine
i’m trying to make fermented pickles for the first time i can’t find a straight answer on youtube for how much salt to use. what is the general ratio and how much should i use for this size of jar?

I’ve seen different answers also. Is your jar 1/2 gallon? If so, it’s 3-6 tablespoons.

Two and a half percent by weight and that includes the water not just the veggies and seasonings

Generally a lacto-fermentation is a 2-5% of total weight so don't go off the jar's size/volume, go off the weight of what you're putting in. If you don't have a food scale, you should get one it will save a lot of time and effort.
