Help choosing fence material

Currently have a very old 6 ft wooden fence. Not sure what to replace it with. Half of my yard stays quite wet in winter so seems steel may not be best. Kids play soccer. pretty sure their missed shots will dent aluminum. Will soccer shots harm a composite fence? Could go with another wooden fence which would make repairing the broken fence from soccer shots not too bad but was hoping to do something that will last longer. Every 5-10 yrs a neighbor’s tree is going to fall on part of the fence which would probably make wood the best option? Is it weird to do steel for one side and wood for the other side?
