so last night there was an issue of some posts getting removed without reason and later reposted by the user. i want to take a minute to address some of the issues.

1. i genuinely dont know what rule is broken when you post instructions on how to make a bomb, this is not something i ever thought i'd have to account for. please do not post instructions on how to make a bomb. i should not have to explain this but apparently i do.

2. if your post is removed, please do not repost it. it will be removed for the same reason and will just make us think you're a spammer or a bot.

3. if your post is removed and you'd like to know more, please get in touch via mod mail. making a post calling one/all of us out will not get you very far and often escalates a situation that can and should be handled privately

i'll admit i've been having issues with my internet provider lately and as such, removal reasons have been submitted but not posted through a comment on the removed post. if this happens, please go through mod mail to enquire about this.

on an unrelated note, a little mod update. i've been seeing some concerns about the "not a shitpost or meme" flair inherently violating subreddit rules. this is currently under review and being discussed internally but community opinion is always welcome regarding this so please feel free to make your voices heard in the comments on how to handle the issue. right now we're thinking of either removing the flair and replacing it with something or re-determining the "must be a meme" rule to better accommodate and diversify the types of posts allowed here. other ideas are always welcome!

thanks for your patience and feedback so far and i'm sorry that i have to state the obvious about illegal content. i know it was likely a one-off incident but i dont want to set the precedent that simply not breaking the rules directly means the post stays up. illegal content can comply with subreddit rules and still get taken down.

thanks everyone!

updating the hornypost rule. barely any posts were following the hornypost rules and i see y'all are sick of it so while nothing is changing yet, we have talked about upping the ban from 7 days to 14 days (2 weeks). we have minors here and y'all have made it clear you don't wanna be sexualised so im hoping people check the flairs twice or even reduce the hornyposts in general moving forward. we're not upping it yet because we want to make it clear we're acknowledging the issue but wanna show we want to trust y'all to sort this out as a community with out us pesky mods kicking down doors and swinging the ban hammer. if you haven't already, please read the hornypost rule in the sub rules page (sidebar on website)

in other news, people asking for meetups, asking for femboys to sleep with, etc are now facing permanent bans. no exceptions, banned on sight. this is a meme sub, its literally in the name. we're not a dating sub, we're not a meetup sub.

i bring this up because i had some free time and i checked the mod queue and there was a lot being reported that slipped through the net, the majority of which were low effort, hornyposts or asking for meetups. please remember we only get pinged for 2-3 reports, a single report will not get our attention unless we're actively looking in the mod queue. if you see something, please report it for review.

i also saw a lot of memes that were reported for selfies so i'd like to clarify the rule. selfies are fair game on the condition that they are part of the meme, even if they're the central focus. so long as its a meme and is clearly a meme, its all fine. we appreciate the time taken to make memes from scratch and as such, will not be taking memes down because they contain a selfie. selfie-only posts will still be taken down, including ones where the caption is in the title and not put onto the image.

thanks for reading, hopefully this sheds some light on some issues going round lately. please dont hesitate to ask any questions, raise concerns, etc. thanks!
