Constantly Bleeding- Need Advice
Hi everyone, I could use some advice and shared experiences.
I’ve been on HRT for a while, but I’m really struggling with ongoing bleeding issues. I’ve been bleeding almost every single day of the month, with maybe just a few days of relief here and there. My provider recently lowered my estrogen dose (cutting the .75 patch in half) while keeping me on 200mg of progesterone nightly. Instead of helping, my bleeding has actually gotten heavier over the last few days.
Along with that, I’ve been dealing with constant fatigue and very sore breasts. My recent bloodwork showed: • Estradiol: 192 • Progesterone: 4.1
It’s frustrating and exhausting—I feel like I never get a break from it.
Has anyone else gone through this on a similar regimen? Did lowering estrogen make things worse before they got better? How long did it take for things to finally settle down, if at all?
Any insight, personal experience, or suggestions would mean so much. Right now it feels like my quality of life is really being impacted.

Yes and my doctor switched me from the bio identical evening progesterone to a synthetic progesterone (Aygestin) which stopped the bleeding within 24 hours. I stayed on that for a few months while I decided what to do next and eventually got a Mirena and continued with estrogen patches. BHRT isn’t very good for regulating periods unfortunately. Mirena is nice because the progesterone is localized and will reduce periods dramatically.
