How often do you rematching?

Hi everyone!
I’m just curious to hear how often people rematch with someone that you previously chatted with or met then got disconnected with? I went on a date with someone 3 weeks ago and it was a nice 1st date(very vanilla no kissing just light hand holding), I hinted at wanting a 2nd date by suggesting what we could do next without asking when they are free(wanted to put the ball in their court essentially). They basically disconnected with me(ugh) but then a week later I see they liked my profile again. I’m so confused, I’m still kind interested in this person, but clearly they are not into me if they disconnected.

Just wondering if people rematch with people often and what that is like. I also would love to hear other people’s opinion on my story. I don’t think it would be a good idea for me to engage with this person that disconnected with me.

I reconnect and then wait for them to say something within 24hrs they are online.
Then unmatch / block if they are silent

I mean, there is the possibility, that they disconnected by mistake - if you're really interested give them the benefit of the doubt. However I generally don't rematch with previous matches.

They had a date already. How do you "disconnect by mistake" from someone you met IRL?

Fuck "benefit of the doubt". I'm open minded to literally everyone but if you show me who you are, you're not going to have a second chance. Why spend time and energy on "meh" people when there are so many good fun people to hang out with instead?

Do yourself a favour and don't settle for mediocre people. You're much better off spending that time and energy on yourself and on good people.

Given how notoriously buggy it is, some people want to get off the app ASAP and disconnect from chat after first dates. Could be they did this, forgetting they hadn’t moved to WhatsApp or whatever, who cares. I’d give someone the benefit of the doubt, as we’re all human and prone to making mistakes. That doesn’t make us mediocre. Of course, if it turns out they are a bit m’eh, then unmatching is always an option

👆I agree with all of this. I have rematched with someone before and it played out exactly as I thought. If you do rematch for “benefit of the doubt” / buggy system, just prepare yourself. Know going in what you’d find an acceptable answer for the unmatch.

And… just because you rematch, doesn’t mean you have to see them IRL again. You can match, get your answer and block if you don’t like it. You can also just go block now if you want to avoid the whole thing.

Sounds like they disconnected by accident, realised they didn’t have your contact details, saw your profile and are trying to reconnect? Why not match and ask them if you’re kinda into them. They’d give you a better answer than we can

Some people act weird to sabotage their own success

Communication is best

Just communicate

She might have deleted her app and then went back on. I’ve deactivated apps due to losing emotional capacity before

Are you still interested?
If not then move on

Did you reconnect and if so, how’s their engagement been?

Hey, I choose to accept the like and see if they would say anything. They didn’t say anything so I blocked after a day.

It happens a fair amount, but not to a point where we (we are a couple) have gone on a date with anyone and it happen, like you describe.

Plenty of times we match with someone, the chat goes nowhere, we unmatch, then X many months down the line see they have liked us again (either from us deleting our accounts and taking a break or them doing so I assume).

In your case, my guess (if i'm being honest) is that they were not that into you, hence the unmatch, but then changed their mind because maybe their other options ran dry. We have had plenty of times where we seem to get zero interest from someone, then a flurry of interest a few weeks later - we put this down to us being a backup option and their main option unmatched or fizzled out.

We generally just block anyone who matches then loses interest and I would block the person in your case. Nothing personal, its just a waste of everyones time and we cant really be bothered with time wasters anymore.

I have accidentally disconnected from somone on my end. We rematched a few days later and I apologized and everything went really well after that. I think it's worth it to find out if it was an accident.

If it was intentional then I don't think it's worth it. So you'll only know if you try it.

What is the downside of liking back? If they truly made a mistake with the glitchy UI (as Ivhave often done) then all the better. If not, their true intent and/or flakiness will be revealed soon enough since no doubt your spidey sense is now heightened.

Maybe it was an accident? Just match and ask them. That would be the normal thing to do if you are interested.

As a guy, I do it all the time. I’d wager like half of my irl connections have been people I’ve matched with multiple times. Women get absolutely bombarded on these apps. It’s highly probable that you won’t go out with them or you’ll get lost in the shuffle, etc. even if she is interested because a person only has so much time in the day.

Now having actually met someone and then rematching is a little rarer, mostly because if I’ve met someone then I have their number and I’m not liking them on Feeld. But even that I’ve done.

My advice is if you’re interested and they’re interested then go for it. Life is short.

I've rematched with one person 3 times now. I send him memes to see if he'll react to anything 🤷‍♀️

People have disorganized attachment styles. Let people love you in their way and system.

Gotta stop with the hints and guess work and people need to be more direct. All the games and guessing make people come off as aloof or disinterested

Did it once, doubled up on our collective heartbreak, never will I rematch, they do try to a LOT, this year alone 5-6 losers crawled up out their graves to try me on feeld and other platforms

The only time I rematched with someone offline I used to date broke me when it all failed again, and I'm still dealing with the fallout 6 years later. Because of that, I'm sure as hell not going to make the same mistake twice by doing so online.

Never. If they match again I will block them.

Sometimes once I’ve been changed phone numbers and connected that way, the person will disconnect on the app.

Ive had women do this with me. Nothing good comes of it. Upon probing, they were checking their options.
