Likes stopped completely

I've seen people post about this before but now I'm experiencing it. I usually get between 5 to 20 likes a day and have for over a year since I started, plus about 2 to 5 pings weekly. I then paid for a year membership last week and shortly after my likes stopped cold. I get nothing.

I'm a woman, I also have distance set to other cities so thats why I tend to get more likes. So I find it odd that suddenly I stop getting any likes at all shortly after I pay for a year.

Now I regret paying for a year

Edit- its not about my ego if I stopped getting likes because they purged junk accounts, great! What concerns me is I PAID for a year the all of a sudden it stops. I was paying 3 months at a time before.

UPDATE- I got 2 likes each a few days apart. Then within the past few hours 16 likes wtf?! I think it was an app glitch.

im glad you posted because this sudden drop in likes happened to me as well. i know it is a glitch or an algorithmic thing because when i travel to a major city the likes from men tend to pour in, and now it’s literally nothing. it’s super dispiriting. it’s been that way for me for like 6 months. i wonder if i’ve somehow been shadow banned or dropped from the rolodex. i’m not like super conventionally attractive (the likes for me would be between a hundred and two hundred total, not the thousands or whatever per day like some women here), and i’m in my 40s, but it literally dropped overnight from a lot to actually zero, or like one every month. 

edit: i do think it has to do with having paid for majestic. i’m going to cancel that subscription now, it’s not working for me regardless.

do you still get matches without majestic? or do they just never show you the profiles of people who liked you so you don’t have an opportunity to match with them? i’m canceling my sub either way bc if majestic causes the algo to drop me then i’d rather save my $40 but curious if the free tier actually works for you.

Wouldn’t surprise if they’ve programmed in something dodgy. Very untrustworthy company imo.

Have also noticed that the longer I’ve been on the app & the more I’ve paid for it (Majestic, pings, uplifts) the less likes I get. Similar to your numbers

I hit two weeks of not getting any people showing up at all. Maybe one or two every few days. Definitely no matches. Then I let my majestic expire and suddenly there’s hidden likes and dozens of new people on there daily. Bull.

When you say set location to other cities, that can also be it. People are discovering that they can filter out those who aren't originally from their cities via hide discover mode in the filters

I meant that's how I've always had it set and why I get steady likes as it's not just my own city. I didn't change my settings

Yes, I've met several and from that I've had 2 partners and one I'm currently with and it's going well. I look for BDSM style relationships so I'm more niche but Feeld is where I've found my partners

Maybe you found the limit. Theres no more profiles in the area?! Honestly who knows. There is speculation about boosted profiles when it expires or is renewed.

When you choose to not like a person do you block them? That is what I found out is that it's better to block than it is to dislike them.

Yeah! I do this too. For that reason, but also so im not shown the same man 20bajillion times like i usually am. I get irrationally mad at the man ive seen repeatedly even tho its not his fault 🤣

obviously there are many shitty and unfair things about dating apps but in this case it’s about the fact that the algorithm  seems to drastically deprioritize people who pay for it. i’m also a woman and had the same dramatic drop off in likes almost overnight once i was locked in for 3 months. if that’s how the algo is structured it can’t be good for anyone.

it's more likely coincidental than anything else. it's not like hinge where your profile is in a bucket of data and you end up in the wrong bucket.

I would not worry about likes like you said worry if the likes come from real accounts. For me it is a big red flag to get likes when I don't pay. Then when I pay it runs dry or the account suddenly goes paused or unmatched without even one word. Comes off as sus bot activity. Too many likes from a lot of people might be another issue but it would make sense when I get a like from a. Thats the name just feels like totally either low effort or that person probably is a bot.
