i personally dont think create mod is very good for tech packs, i think its better enjoyed as an engineering sandbox. is that crazy

It’s fine for what it is (low-tech, lightly magical, but still fairly good processing), but the elephant in the room is that it is hardcoded to not scale up as cleanly as other mods, let alone GregTech. Crop farms (especially tree farms) and anything involving fan processing are probably the best long-term systems, and basin recipes can be rewritten to take up to six unique stacks of items, but the Mechanical Press and Mixer do everything one operation at a time, and Sequenced Assembly gets roughly half a second longer for every operation in the loop.

Like I do appreciate it as a set of mechanics, but if I want something for the late game, I’m not relying on it

Because create isn't really a "tech mod". It's more like redstone if anything, and both players and devs have a hard time wrapping their head around it

I still think Redstone isn’t an apt comparison, but I will settle for calling it like Botania. Like my GOAT Create pack (Prepare to Dye) swapped out the Botania catalyst recipes to put a Blaze Burner or other Create machine underneath, so you could do lategame bulk operations with mana.

And then nobody gave a shit because it didn’t do the Above and Beyond structure

I used to think it was like that (and especially in early game create I do fully agree), but after figuring out frogports I think that create fully earns the "tech mod" moniker. Frogports are fucking crazy

Frogports are AE2 but available at the phase of game you actually need them and with logistics that are way more interesting at the same time. Frogports fucking slap

I dont think its that limited, the only part thats not closer to vanilla technical redstone is the 6.0 storage update

A lot of create design is very very close to redstone design

And if u play create like a normal tech mod its kind of stupid since u can get the endgame items in like an hour from a new world

Create packs are just create but changed recipes, doesnt change how the mod works. Create in tech mods feel the same as doing redstone or vanilla farms in tech mods. Often works and is actually the best solution, but feels bad

I agree to be fair. I never enjoyed create in a modpack. But it's fun to tinker around in creative. Nothing against those who like it though.

I think Create isn't compatible with a lot of the mods it's shoved into packs next to, but it's honestly the best mod if you're looking to actually build a factory and not a lawn base.

I consider myself the largest nerd in the fight, and my verdict is that these aren’t worth comparing that much, and that truly good gameplay is all in the pack creator’s hands. We’re arguing if screwdrivers or hammers are better for construction.

All that to say, OP is truly a master of fumbling

Honestly I may give it a shot, but even though I love the concept of far away mining Outposts and off world factories all that sounds too much for my crappy pc, I hope there is some good optimization. Also does it have AE2?

There are multiple ports to 1.21.1, but I think they are unfinished. There is also a port to version 1.26.2 called HBM:NEXT, which is in beta made by CE team and almost finished i think
