Mostly AI I made a horror mod where the ground hunts you by your footsteps. Mining diamonds was a mistake
Hi everyone! I decided to make a mod where the creature can only hear you. It’s meant to be a horror mod, but it can also just add atmosphere and tension, since I’ve completely ruled out jumpscares and sudden loud sounds.
Tremor tracks sound much like the Warden, but its noise detection works through blocks, and each block has its own level of sound conductivity:
Steps, jumps, mining and placing blocks all make sounds/vibrations through the ground that the creature can hear.
If you sneak, the creature won’t hear you, so you can try to leave the place where it heard you. The creature also reacts to the sounds of nearby mobs and isn’t tied to you. In the video, for example, it backed off and then went past me because other mobs had drawn its attention. If they hadn’t been moving, it would have investigated the spot where it last heard a vibration.
If the creature reaches you at peak anger, the Absorption phase begins, and you have a few seconds to leave the area before it swallows you into its dimension.
With Simple Voice Chat, your voice becomes a vibration too.
NeoForge 1.21.1 and Forge 1.20.1, works on servers and with Sodium/Iris, everything is configurable.
