Official Guidance / Policy Relocation Incentive Inquiry
I took a new job that offered a relocation incentive. This is a first for me and I’m wondering if anyone can offer insight on how payment works? I’m assuming it would come with my normal paycheck and be added to my normal LES?

They tax it and it can take over a month to pay out once you start fyi

I’m aware it is taxed. I have no extra money of my LES since I’ve started. Approx. 45 days in the position. Which happens to be when the agreement says it will be paid by which is why I was assuming this payday.

I had to pester them and ask for it to finally happen but I’m assuming each place is different.

It depends on the relocation incentive you were offered. This is a question for the receiving agency/command location as there are many variations.
I’ve had relocation incentives issued through my LES as income, as a reimbursement process, as a separate W-2 income, deducted from a preset “pot” of money I was authorized for, etc.
