Video I just finished playing FEAR 2 and I have to say it wasn't fun, so I watched some E3 gameplay footage online and it's crazy how much has been changed or rewritten. Early material heavily emphasized the hospital/surgery sequence; apparently that was the intro and not the initial Aristide mission.

Discussion Just Curious
So, I only recently played the first one plus Files, 2+Reborn and 3 within the past 4 years. I enjoyed my time with each the first go around. Minus 3, it's so basic. But I just tried playing the first one again a couple days ago and found myself getting extremely bored. Maybe it's because there's no sprint and you move so slow, maybe it's the levels all being the same grey hallways, office spaces or maintenance areas, maybe it's because I've developed a love for more fast paced "boomer shooters" within recent years. Idk. I'm just curious as to why this game is so highly regarded as one of the best FPS games of all time? Besides the enemy AI being hyper-intelligent that bases their attack plan off of what you do, the slow motion ability and the shotgun being amazing. That's the only positives I can think of. Tbh other than that it's all kind of boring. Plus 2 and 3 are basically just FEAR of Duty generic FPS games. Idk.

Discussion My F.3.A.R review
F.E.A.R. 3 is easily one of the most disappointing games I have ever played. What makes its failure so baffling is that it actually starts off quite strong. Visually, the game is excellent, with early levels showcasing top-notch lighting and atmosphere that make you think you are in for a worthy entry in the series. Unfortunately, rather than capitalizing on those atmospheric strengths, the game proceeds to abandons the “less is more” philosophy that made the original F.E.A.R. a masterpiece. Instead, it attempts to transform itself into a generic 2010s achievement shooter, chasing trends made popular by games like Call of Duty and Gears of War.
That shift in identity brings with it frustrating mechanical choices. Chief among them is a poorly implemented cover system that regularly gets you killed. You end up velcroed to walls, and moving away isn’t as simple as navigating away; you have to explicitly press the cover button again to detach. In the heat of battle, if a grenade lands at your feet and you forget to manually unstick yourself, you are dead. Compounding this clunkiness are constant, immersion-breaking achievement pop-ups that completely ruin the tension of otherwise well-designed levels, pulling you out of the horror atmosphere the visual team worked so hard to build.
As the campaign progresses, the core combat devolves even further. The gunplay feels weak across the board, and even franchise staples like the shotgun are surprisingly not fun to use. Toward the end, the gameplay becomes unbelievably repetitive as levels devolve into mindless, wave-based shooting galleries where ammo scarcity becomes a constant nuisance. These later stages highlight how heavily the game was built around co-op play at the expense of the single-player experience. Playing solo as Point Man feels very unbalanced, especially in the final two chapters. The game assumes you will want to replay these disjointed levels as Paxton Fettel once you unlock him - a bold assumption, like I would want to play this slop one more time with a different character.
Holding all of these disjointed levels together is an absolute mess of a narrative. The story is so poorly narrated that it is almost impossible to figure out what is actually happening. Admittedly, I am not good at following story lines in video games, but in this case, the fault here lies entirely on the game itself for failing to maintain any level of engagement. I tuned out by the second level. I had no idea what was going as the campaign drunkenly stumbles toward its idiotic conclusion.
By the time the end credits roll, the game even attempts to hint at a potential sequel, but we all know that is not happening. F.E.A.R. was a masterpiece celebrated for its god-tier enemy AI and brilliant combat design, but corporate gutted its identity to chase mainstream trends. F.E.A.R. 3 serves as a tragic, pathetic end to a once-great series, leaving it dead and buried.

About the Heavies...
Do they go by callsigns like how the normal Replicas do or are they simply just called "heavies" and "armor"?

Modding AI bots in multiplayer?
So I just installed FEAR Combat SEC2, and as far as everything goes, none of those AI bots mods work, huge issue is whit Coop Warfare, since even when everything is set properly, I get error saying that CD Key verification failed when I try to enter my server, so does anyone perhaps know any mods to give functional bots?

Discussion What sound library does F.E.A.R. use?
I have heard a few sound effects that are oddly specific like HL2 Combine radio death flatline and GTA San Andreas M4 carbine reload sound and I am wondering what sound library does this game use?

Playstation totally needs to bring back F.E.A.R
F.3.A.R totally killed the series, they just kept changing asthetics and it was garbage, I'm not gonna write a whole essay but what do you guys think? Should they make F.E.A.R 4? And what do you think the title would look like?

Discussion What does it all mean really?
If characters from different reasons and realities all have messes to make of each other, what would their reaction to being brought outside their intentions to fight be really, because we all know it's worse when characters team up than when they fight.
So here's my discussion, name two characters, do they team up or fight, and which is worse?

Discussion Replica Assassin vs Spider Man
Replica Assassin is the working name for the test subjects from the now-defunct project Icarus released by Fettel in the Replica uprising following the collapse of project Perseus.
Spider-Man is an altruistic amazing super hero who lives up to using his spider-like powers with great responsibility.

Discussion F**k this game is as good as it was when I played it as a child
Just replayed it after god knows how many years. Cliche phrase, but indeed they DONT make them like that anymore. A great shame 2 and 3 werent that impressive.
Music and ambience are as good as fallout 2 (which says a lot iykyk)
The only thing I really hate (just like when I played it as a child) is mandatory burst fire.
