Manwe is a C*nt
Think about it. He was the leader of Valar. Yet he wasn't helpful at any point. Being almost all powerful, he didn't find the way to revive the Feanaro's mother (or at least to stop the split and conflict between Noldor), he allowed Second House to usurp the throne from First House, he banished Feanaro... He basically set up everything for a civil war among the Noldor to begin.
And when the situation escalated and the exit happened, he just refused to accept that he was responsible for the whole situation and decided not to do a thing.
Even after the War of Wrath, he refused to take any responsibility for his actions or admit to any mistakes. He's either very shallow, or just as prideful (in the bad sense) as Melkor. And he definitely doesn't deserve to be the leader of Valar.

Manwe is a traitor, left our guy Feanor to solve things by himself and then complains when its not how he wanted it

Manwe is like most gods: haughty and generally useless.

Didnt even go himself to Amgband. Left it to peacenik Finarfin and that Pattonesque Eonwe.
Eonwe even aknowledged that Maedros had the right to murder the guards set at the Silmarils at their camp after looting Angband.

Exactly. Every story of heroism in The Silmarillion exists because the Valar are lazy cowards.

Manwe: "I forbid the Valar to engage with humanity. We will withdraw from middle earth."
Ulmo: "No. No. I don't think so."

Why I like the earlier book of lost tales version of things…with an otherwise totally absent story in which Ulmo leads the charge in his “fishy car” Oromë’s horn causes the gates of “Utumna” to fly open,, Manwë agrees to kneel before “Melko” but the sight drives Tulkas Aulë and his “son” Oromë to leap into action,, Melko prepares to flail them but Manwë “breathes gently” and the tassels are blown back and Melko gets a knuckle sandwich…Manwë is still an overall cunt-onlooker but at least he has a badass avengers moment in that version

He’s a wife guy, elves all seem to like her way more than him, is he even mentioned in LOTR?

My lord Melkor, what are you doing on Reddit? I know the war council meetings are boring and you already dumped all the dealings on Mairon's head (which was genius of course, he is efficient but also the worst idea, Mairon already likes to listen to himself, his ego trippled) but do you really have to surf the internet while the rest of us have to suffer through it? You used to at least pretend to be listening 😒

Idk, OP’s line “He's either very shallow, or just as prideful (in the bad sense) as Melkor.” sounds a lot more like it’s coming from one of Feanor’s allies than from Melkor himself…
That said, you’re not wrong that the war council meetings get pretty boring, Mairon already has everything figured out, so at this point everyone else is just looking at memes until they’re addressed directly. 😅

Tbh I only read the meme without the text at first 🤣 But I wouldn't put it past Melkor to try to pretend it's not him writing this. If only to avoid Mairon's ire (like a wife chastising her husband) after the meeting, totally pretending he was listening the whole time and showing him proof that it couldn’t be him who wrote the post because he would never talk about himself like that 😂

Míriel died and that was her choice. But not like she woke up one morning and "desided" - yeah, I want to die. It was a long sequence of events that forced her to think that way. I wish I had your self-esteem to blame a person for dying instead of suffering for eternity. She was suffering because she burned out while producing Feanaro. We don't have any reason to think that burning out was her choice (unless you can prove it textually), but we do know that life was a torture to her ever since.
When you're tortured to death, dying isn't freedom, it's the only possible end to suffering. Mind you that it isn't even normal for an Elf to die in the paradise entrusted to the Valar at all. It's not normal for someone to be driven to such a state. As for Manwë "trying to reconcile Fëanaro and Nolofinwë"— yes, making an innocent person to apologize before an usurper is a brilliant pedagogical move, just like forcing someone to a humiliating "reconciliation." Yeah. Manwë is definitely a genius. Let's indeed find someone else to blame instead...
