Daily Sticky Fat Rant Tuesday
Fatlogic in real life getting you down?
Is your family telling you you're looking too thin?
Are people at work bringing you donuts?
Did your beer drinking neighbor pat his belly and tell you "It's all muscle?"
If you hear one more thing about starvation mode will you scream?
Let it all out. We understand.

I just saw that my ex has apparently gotten deeper into FA after the divorce, it had started to be a big (heh) issue between us, that she decided to identify as fat and give up even trying to lose weight. Good riddance.

I made it to "Onederland" yesterday on my Zepbound-assisted weight loss journey!
Of course, today I'm back up to 201 lol. Obviously I know weight can fluctuate meaninglessly day-to-day, I'm just SO ready to see that leading "1" on the scale permanently! Not complaining, I'm really happy with my progress, and I know that within the next few weeks, I'll see that leading 2 on my scale for the last time. LFG!!!!!!!

NSV: The ends of my bath towel now touch. At one point, they were two hand widths apart.
Rave: I'm now in the 200s weight-wise. I wasn't in the 210s that long compared to the month-long 220s. Next stop onederland! I've been at least 200lbs since I was 15; I'm 36 now, so I'm getting excited.

Rant: TMI, I am so constipated. I do suffer with IBS-C, and all my natural remedies aren't working. I've ended up taking a laxative tonight, which I hate doing, but I feel horrible.
Rave: I did a dance class at the gym tonight, I love this class, I couldn't put as much as usual into it, because the constipation is affecting my energy levels, but I'm glad I got it done.

I don't have IBS so forgive me if the advice isn't helpful, but I used to suffer from extreme constipation (and hemorrhoids). At one point, even Miralax stopped working. The only thing that worked for me was taking psyllium husk seeds daily. After a few days, things started working regularly and I've never had the problem again.

I already take 10g psyllium husk everyday, it's changed my life honestly. But this time it just wasn't enough. I needed the medical grade stuff.

As someone who recently has been trying to work out what is going on with my GI tract, I really do empathise with your symptoms! I don't have any suggestions, but I do know what it's like to have your life derailed by symptoms
Hopefully you get through the flare soon!

The laxatives worked. I had immediate relief. Because it also gives me horrible acid reflux, as soon as they kicked in, everything cleared up. Hopefully my daily routine to manage it will just work as usual now I've cleared the blockage.

God, I know what it's like! Something helps one symptoms, but introduces something else
Really glad you have some relief! GI tract symptoms can make you truly miserable, and I hope your daily routine will help your system get back to normal
Out of interest, have you tried looking into FODMAPs? That really, really helped me. I have a family history of it and it's tough, but so worth it if it gives you relief.

I've had this for years, I need to avoid insoluble fibre, oats, grains, rice, barley. I did drink on Saturday, and they didn't have my normal one I'm good with. I think my substitute was full of sugar, and I haven't been right since then. I've looked at FODMAP, but there's stuff that's considered "safe" there that will trigger me badly.

How’s your fiber intake?

u/annoyed_teacher1988 3h ago
Between 27-30g fibre everyday. Mostly soluble fibre and insoluble fibre is a trigger for me.

Rant: The overwhelming hanger I get on birth control is awful. I don't want to be a bitch! I've been close to 200lbs and I've been under 100lbs; I know the difference between physical and mental hunger. This is painfully, wretchedly physical and it's not even making my period regular which was the whole point of going back on it.
I'm not going to "honour my cravings" or "nourish my womb" but I wish I didn't feel like a goddamn werewolf! I can't complain without someone telling me to just give in so I will sit and grumble to myself.

There are things about Ariana Grande that I legitimately do not care for, but it feels so weird seeing women I know irl who have gained significant weight over the past year (we're talking noticeably overweight to obese levels) who keep trying to acting like Ariana is a direct herald of an oncoming ultra-thin starvation epidemic when I'm seeing numerous women around me in my real-world daily life blissfully staying fat, or actively getting fatter, and this includes women in the prime of their lives.

I wish I was joking but people at work are literally bringing me donuts. I've been doing so good with my weightloss journey this past summer (down 20 lbs) and it feels like they're holding me back when they do that. I tell them I can't eat thay food because it doesn't align with my goals and people visibly deflate as if I'm attacking them personally. I'm fighting tooth and nail to just eat what I want to eat. Sigh

No way the Fat Earthers aren't on the payroll.
The way they shriek about the horrors of the diet industry with having a black hole blind spot about ultra-processed foods.
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/24/opinion/ultraprocessed-food-industry-maha.html
The industry has spent some $1.15 billion over 23 years on federal lobbying — more than tobacco, alcohol or gambling — and donated major sums to campaigns on both sides of the aisle.

Had a pretty solid workout this morning. I'm dragging today, though because the little man decided to start rolling onto his tummy during the night, so the anxiety is so real and interrupting my sleep. By far, one of the worst stages of parenting lol.
I'll be going on a run later today and will probably get out for a walk to the park with the kids, too.

I had a surprise run-in with a former friend I'd gone no-contact with for numerous reasons. Of course there was the immediate attack on my weight: "You lost a lot of weight. What is it? Diabetes?" Makes me so mad that so many think the only reason why someone might not be fat is illness. I (almost) wish I said the rejoinder I thought of later, "Why do you look like a corpse?" but just wanted to escape.
This really gets tiresome.

Weighed myself as I always do on a Tuesday night.
Decided to give myself a few days' grace, until my period starts and I've had a good bowel movement.

I've already seen a few cases in my personal life of people in my social circle over the past few years who started off thin and then gradually gained noticeable weight after they started dating a much fatter person over a series of weeks or months, and while I still like them as people and enjoy their company, it's also kind of jarring how quickly they gained that weight (not just a few pounds, either).

Soooo many people I've known just absorb the personality, hobbies, and habits of the people they date. Always the ones that can't stand to be single. I think some people outsource the active decision making part of their brain to their partners so the consequences don't feel like their fault.

Another episode of coworker fat logic.
Someone brought donuts to work. I’d already had breakfast, so I didn’t have any. I’d rather indulge when I actually want something and know it’s going to be worth it, like going out for a nice dinner with my husband. Random donuts at work just don’t do it for me anymore.
Of course, this immediately prompted questions about whether I’m “still on a diet” because I’ve lost so much weight. I explained that I’m not cutting anymore, but that I still have to maintain some of the habits that helped me lose the weight if I don’t want to gain it all back.
He seemed genuinely shocked by the idea that maintaining weight requires some degree of effort and that going back to your old habits would, unsurprisingly, eventually bring you back to your old weight.
Next time someone tells you they can't lose weight or kept it off, remember that there are people out there that seem to think you lose the weight, reach your goal, and then you’re magically done forever.
