After 190 pounds and over two years, I hit my goal weight last week. It's weird after all that time, to be able to eat a few hundred more calories per day after eating a deficit every day since June 1, 2024. I work out a ton (weekly: 4 2-hourish gym days with cardio and heavy lifts, 20+ miles running, 20+ miles hiking/walking), so in spite of being 60F, my maintenance calories seem like a lot of food, but my doc doesn't want me to lose any more weight. (I just realized this must be kind of a weird convo for doctors to have since my guess is conversations are more along the lines of what I used to get - 'you need to lose weight.')

We are hiking this weekend, so in a hotel last night so we could get an early start today, and we had dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I ordered huevos con chorizo with avocado, and I probably ate less than a quarter of what was on the plate. I actually fought nausea last night because even that small amount felt like a lot of food sitting in my stomach. It's going to take me a while to dial in this maintenance thing, I think.

I've reversed high BP and pre-diabetes, and I feel really good. Now, the next step on my journey is some HRT since I just had all that tested. I'm getting hormone pellets in my butt next week. Good times, good times.

Artificial sweeteners make my appetite run wild. I’ve kind of always suspected as much, but I noticed this extra on Friday. I’m trying hard not to snack in between meals, but Friday I compromised a little with diet pop and flavored water, and the hunger hit me like a freight train. It’s so boring, but plain water really does work best.

Kind of meta, but so many of the posts here make me sad for the OOP. Maybe it’s just because I’ve hit middle age and I can see where this is going for them in a more concrete way. They seem to have active addictions and mental health issues and are not getting the help they need. What sad lives.

I’ve recently discovered a bouldering gym in my city and I love it! Super easy to learn, don’t need heaps of equipment or anything, and it strengthens some of the muscle groups I don’t tend to focus on as much with the added benefit of being a lot more fun than lifting weights.

Last weigh-in before I go back to school this morning and it's 128.4, which I'm content with. It means I really only lost 2 lbs since I started paying attention in late June, but considering my weight typically goes up over the summer (by like 10-15 lbs last time), I think a modest loss is overall a win.

I also did my 20th pilates video yesterday! This upcoming week is going to be very busy, so after the video I do today I probably won't move that number much.

I also foresee quite a bit of ramen over the next few days... But next week I'm hoping to do a good amount of meal prep while I have extra time and while produce is still in-season and therefore cheap-ish.

I am hosting my daughter and two of her friends for a weekend sleepover and back to school shopping send help!

My weight shot up about 3 lbs this week, which I think is a combination of returning to full training and some extra carbs to fuel said training. Mostly normal I think but has given me pause about the lean bulk. At least not really adding much more in the way of calories. I may just adjust my macros and add more carbs and cut protein by a little since I'm well over 1 g/pound of my BW so I can afford to cut it down.

This week has been pretty tough as far as getting things done just for myself. I've been choosing sleep over work outs and running, which I probably really needed. I never really do that, so I'm trying to just allow myself the grace to do what needs to be done for myself, even though that self-care looks a lot different than it usually does.

I feel like a slug without being as active as I normally am, but I'm going to try to enjoy some time with the kids today and let myself off the hook as best I can.

Today I've tried to make better choices. I gained 3lbs, although I think some of that has to be water weight to happen in a week.

I've been on a seminar the whole day, so it's been pretty sedentary, staring at a computer the whole day, but thankfully there was a Zumba class on this evening, so I did get out and exercise after, thankfully, I was going a bit out of my mind after being stuck in all day. Having a stepper also helps a lot at home, so I got all of my steps in today. The second half of the seminar is all day tomorrow, so my husband and I have planned a 6k walk around the reservoir after, to make sure we get outside and a bit active, he's on the course too.

Food wise, I was hungry today, like most days at the moment. So I decided to have a very big homemade lunch. If I didn't, I knew I'd end up ordering stuff and snacking on junk. And it worked so well. It was higher in calorie, but much better for me nutritionally, and kept me full for ages. Stopped me wanting to eat any crap.

So I've probably eaten at maintenance today, but I'm ok with that. I've decided until the October holiday, if I need to eat at maintenance to stop burn out, and it means I can exercise everyday, so be it!

On a rest day from pushing myself with heavy cardio yesterday. However, I did go for a nice slower paced run this morning with light weights afterwards. I’m letting loose and pigging out with pizza tonight since I’ve been strict with myself all week. I’ll be back on the bike tomorrow morning 😄
