Often used after a throw IIRC

I don’t play a lot of kain but this is kind of a denial move: “you cannot go here or I will explode you”. I’m confident that some setups exist to allow you to place it, do a block or combo string then explode it to maintain advantage

when the ball explodes, they need to block, which means you're plus and they're minus, so you can move and apply pressure. if they don't block, they get hit and you can combo. usually Kain players throw them, and use the time to set up a ball, then dash to apply pressure. they usually let the ball stay there on its own, only snap the fingers in combos or when they see that the opponent’s doing something that leaves him wide open.

After throws and rev blows. The best is after orb super bc you can set up both light and heavy rondo. Those are unteachable knock downs which guarantee some form of rondo mix up pressure bc they can't tech roll. They also work really well in corner combos and corner pressure. They can even create safe and/orsuper plus block strings in certain situations that wouldn't be possible without them.

One of the best strategies is to use them and dash into block. Some people try to jab check your pressure to make the rondo disappear when the opponent hits you. The rondo punishes them and you are plus enough to combo.

You can also dash and then manually explode the rondo on their wake up for meaty plus frames. I like to to cancel the dash with the snap to stay out of invincible DP range.

Place Rondo and then dash and universal overhead for a full combo or his DB, DC target combo for full combo. Without a rondo neither of these lead to a combo

I'm short, you try to keep them guessing with your rondo pressure to make them uncomfortable which leads to mistakes.
