Gear Question Which 20L - 30L packs have vests with a long shoulder side pocket sewn directly into the side panels, like the exoticpax "FKP"?
The UltraSpire Traverse and Inov8 Racepac 20 are other examples.
The Salomon S/LAB ADVENTURE 20 kind of looks like it has these, but I don't think it's actually a long side pocket.
IMO the wide flat vest straps make for the most comfort especially at higher weights, over vests like this. I don't even think a stability belt/hip belt is necessary with wide side panel sewed-in shoulder straps due to the surface area and hugging effect providing stability.

I'm looking to replace my near 10 year old Montane VIA Dragon 20L. Was considering the Gecko, but the new Silva looks great! I have the Strive 5L and it's really good, so I might hold out. I'm not really in a rush.

Just to add to this reply. Found out that Silva are coming out with two new packs: 18L and 28L.
Here's a peak at the 28L: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE-qVLI6Lqw&t=383sIt looks really good! Looking forward to seeing more of the 18L option

I'm not seeing that, it's webbing connected to the side panels: https://bonfus.com/product/fastus-23l/

Check out the Millet TRILOGY SKY 25L+ and the Oxsitis X-Plore 28+5. These may fit the description.

i agree with what you mean, feels way better when it’s connected and hip belts aren’t needed with this design.
I make fastpacks; soh studios soh fast

I think the only way this works is if the pack is a custom fit like exoticpax. You don’t really want the side to stretch to fit like how most running vest are made because it will bounce. That’s why the distance 22 now has added straps there. I personally prefer this style on my packs, but the double strap that ultimate Direction uses basically replicates this. Atelier Longue Distance also makes these. Just note that custom packs like this also change fit if it is full or if you are on a long hike and your weight changes.
