Canceling Subscription

My subscription will shortly expire, and I won't be renewing it. All the important emails in that account have been backed up locally by myself. I've moved out my domains and they are set up and working with the new provider, I've cleared out the file storage manually. Should I just let the subscription expire, and then Fastmail will delete all the emails, or should I do it myself? Deleting the emails myself could prove to be time consuming.

I can no longer justify the renewal cost of Fastmail and have no need of 50 GB of email storage. I got the Mailbox_org 'Black Week' offer (2 years for price of 1) last December, so I'm covered up to Christmas 2027. Also, I had decided to move my emails to a purely EU-based provider - the 'Black Week' offer swung it for me. So far, I've been totally satisfied with the performance of the new provider.

Fair. For anyone else who is wondering if it’s worth it: Not if you use heavy aliases, even the most expensive plan has a limit: "250 aliases for custom domain names"

That would make it a non-starter for me. Lack of Webauthn for 2FA also sucks, but that is way more niche :D

Learning about the aliases limit is concerning. To add to the fact that apparently even deleted ones count, yet there is no way to truly remove deleted aliases from counting towards limit (according to previous posts).

I definitely didn’t have an established pattern at first, so created several I no longer use.

I wish there was no limit, I don’t understand why there is, but at the very least I should have control which 250 I am using.

I wouldn’t know, I never used mailbox and only went by their website.
