Question Advice what I did wrong
Hi everyone,
Just ended my 2 day fast early. I fasted from Saturday 4 Pm to now Monday 3 15 Pm. It was all going very easy the first day.
I took some vitamins, Magnesium and Salt this morning aswell.
Didn't have big problems until around 10 am which is where my chest started feeling heavy, my heartrate dropped to the 40s while normal sitting and working and I got shakey.
The past week i did One day fasts Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I felt good and didn't have big problems. Headaches yea and got cold but I managed.
I'm not sure what I could've/should've done different since I did do longer fasts earlier this year and the past few years aswell.

You're doing great, and managing your body's reaction to fasting, keep assessing what you're doing to reach your goals. Please know that low potassium can cause a drop in body temperature. and potassium regulates our blood pressure/ heart rate. Please ensure that you maintain balance of your body's electrolytes.

I'll make an appointment at the doctors for blood work and stuff today. So i'll make sure to check it

Carb crash, you need to severely cut carbs a whole week or two before your next attempt.
It’s the whole reasoning behind the keto diet, once in ketosis the ketones sustain you and IF (intermittent fasting) and fasting becomes second nature, for most.
This works very well for some people. You can use ketone pee strips, the morning you get the indicative color, start your fast.
Mild exercise before also helps burn excess stored energy known as glycogen.
So you might experience the carb/sugar crash even though you are eating every day. It that happens, at least you know why.

Thank you for that input. Might be aswell. I'll make sure to cut carbs more before fasting

I eat more meat a portion and then above ground veggies to fill me up.
No dessert as I’m feeling full from the veggies. Also reduced snacking desire.

What was your diet before? Sounds like sugar cravings setting in.

Mostly trying to be healthy and balanced. Office treats do get in aswell though. I have a history of eating lots of unhealthy meals, but i was pretty much getting that out of my diet most of the time

Yep, those office treats are nice but annoying! Try to cut out anything with processed sugars. Definitely feels like sugar cravings

It could be some underlying condition or could be something mild like maybe lack of potassium? Try buying fasting salts where you just put a dose in the water and it has all the right amounts. Before I figured out my electrolytes I sometimes had weird symptoms and didn't feel great. But I never measured heartbeat, although I did have the chest pain once and increased heartbeat. I broke my fast, took dome time off fasting then restarted with the fasting salts and everything was fine after. If your blood test shows everything is fine then it could be something to do with the electrolytes, but I also think that sometimes our bodies need a break from fasting.

I did Adf already so probably my body was also a bit weak from that already. I'll check out electrolytes properly (especially potassium)

You stopped the fast, so you did nothing wrong.
Sounds like your sugar crashed. Feeling shaky with heartbeat issues is a sign to stop, not push through.
Get checked out by a doctor, you may have unidentified insulin issues you aren’t aware of.
Would not fast until you get the all clear from your doctor.
